Nice looking project you have there. I also have the felt sunroof seal and always wondered if that was a factory seal or a common replacement

Power should have potential for 600hp+ if detonation can be kept at bay. I am thinking of upgrading to an egt per cyl to better monitor it as well

You wouldn't be worried about any turbulence from the fuel coming together having an effect on cyl 3 injector?

Re: Returnless fuel system

The reason I believe ls guys have problems is because there is only one feed to 8 cylinders. Fuel comes in the back of one of the the fuel rails(firewall side), then travels past 4 cylinders, then over the crossover pipe to the other 4 cylinders. Every injector the fuel passes decdreases the ...

Returnless fuel system

Anyone running a returnless fuel system? I am intrigued by this and simplifying the plumbing in my car, as well as keeping the fuel a bit cooler. Seems LS guys dont like it for high HP builds because the furthest cylinders starve for fuel. Im thinking a 5cyl shouldnt be such a problem but wanted to ...

Re: Ads urq project

Since this car will see a lot of street use I would like to keep the noise down for city cruising. I know a few guys on here are using exhaust cutouts and I would like some input. I don't really want to go the electric cutout direction because a lot of people online say that the motors burn out. I ...

Re: Ads urq project

I'm looking at the frozen boost stuff too. I will modify it to fit my needs. I just want good a good core

Yeah they were the only company that had something to fit my application. In the future I would like to build a custom one but I'll see how this one is first.

Great build! Looks like it is getting close. What AWIC is that?

It is just a frozen boost one. I'll probably end up getting a custom one made at some point but this will do for now

Where did you get the w/m reservoir powder coated? Impact?

The guy who made the reservoir has a buddy with an oven and does a few things now and then, I don't think he does it as a business though.

Re: Ads urq project

Long time no update. Was super busy with work all summer so didn't touch the car for a few months. Got a bit done in the fall/early winter to the point where it is now running.

Ran a ground triggered panel for the vems outputs

Seat brackets

What are you guys using for type 85 seat brackets for aftermarket seats? I have only found the recaro, corbeau, and wedge ones available, but there are no actual pictures of the actual brackets. I was thinking of modifying a factory urq base to accept a bride type seat. Anyone have any experience ...

Tach output

Total VEMS neb here. Got my car running but the tach is not reading rpm. It is a Stack ST700 tach and requires a ground signal to read out rpm. I had it wired to the factory purple black wire that comes from pin 40 on the motronic which, upon further inspection sends a signal and grounds through the ...

Re: Darin's 80tq...484whp...

No I just tapped it for the fittings and stuffed in some steel wool. The fittings are directly over the cams but between the lobes. I am hoping that the 90 degree bends and the steel wool can throw some of the oil back into the head but time will tell I guess.

Re: Darin's 80tq...484whp...

Very interesting stuff. I ran two -10 lines from the valve cover that tee into a line from the crankcase, then off to the catch can. That will then go from cc to the intake(haven't finished yet because I haven't finished the air filter setup yet). Now I'm second guessing myself and wondering if this ...

Re: VEMS on a 1.8T 20V

Yes you can wire it up to your power windows. They have nice heavy duty 70 amp relays. I powered my power windows and mirrors off of one relay.

As for sensors, I used all stock sensors but I used the plug and play aan ecu, not sure if its any different to wire it up to the econo seal unit. The only ...

Did you forget about the wss? Pretty sure the black 3 pin is your wss same as in the first post, the only non shielded 3-pin in that area of the engine bay from what I remember

Black single pin is for 02 sensor and the black 3 pin is wss on drivers side of trans just above and behind output flange.

Not 100% on the bracket. Its on a power steering line correct?

Re: VEMS on a 1.8T 20V

I had a painless kit in my car but still had to run an additional fuse panel and relay panel. I really didn't like what I had done so I bought one of the leash electronics boards, couldn't be happier with it. Super easy to wire up, and they clean everything up a lot. They are also very compact and ...

Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - Water injection fail

I would also like to add that tuning for water only is easier than tuning w/m direct port. When injecting at the ports you are injecting water and meth only inches from combustion, this doesn't give a lot of time for the water and meth to evaporate and you can potentially get poor distribution and ...

Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - Water injection fail

Yeah with direct port I was told water only is best. I was thinking water only for pre compressor and water/meth post I/c. I have two 550cc nozzzles post I/c right now so I'll toy with that first and then try pre compressor once everything is running right and maybe try smaller jets.

I am excited ...

Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - Water injection fail

From what I have read a mixture of 50/50 has worked better for lowering it's. All the results I have seen seem to perform better with some sort of water to meth mixture. A lot of good info can be found at waterinjection.info

Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - Water injection fail

Also, what w/m mixtures are you running Jim? 50/50 seems to be the way to go unless you are doing direct port from what I have read. If I could get 33-35 psi on meth I would be plenty happy, you're obviously doing something right.

I'm glad someone else brought this up as I will be dealing with it soon enough. I am running an aquamist hfs-4 with the fail safe tied into my waste gate valve. I would like some more options with the vems and how I can integrate the two and have better options for a failsafe. I am likely going to ...
