Always search the forums before buying from another user. There are a few known shady/lazy people on motorgeek.

Re: Ben's Oceanic 4kqt -Engine wiring harness

The thing I hate most about this car is how high it sets the bar for my eventual 4kqt :p

But seriously, I love this car.

Did you check the distributor itself? If it isnt spinning freely it is going to pass that force to the gear and that could cause problems.

Re: Coilover springs

Thanks Aaron, used your coilover DIY thread for most of the information I have now.

Talked to ground control and they have barrel springs but the lowest spring rate they have in 8" is 340# so I think thats what I am going to end up with. Ill probably grab a couple helper springs just to keep the ...

Re: Wtb: 20v engine

I have a mc1 20vt from my URQ(and ecu), I went through the engine a year or two before I replaced it with the AAN that is currently in the car.

Has a new headgasket, intake manifold gasket, valve cover gasket, ect. Also has one of the last 034 20vt cams they made. Also have a rebuilt k26 turbo ...

Coilover springs

Had one of the front lower spring perches let go in the s6, planning on going the a1 coilover route but not because I want to go low. I have read through the DIY threads here and on MG and see that most people are saying to go with a 6" spring, would you still go with a 6" spring for a daily driver ...

Re: Ben's 95 90 Quattro - 20VT swap questions

I'm going through build threads and I have some questions about what people have done:

Why do some people swap to a non-serpentine belt?

Why Do I need a 7a oil pan and pickup?
Why the Windage tray from AAN and double gaskets?

Why a 3B water manifold?
Will I need a 7a thermostat housing?

Will ...

Re: Crusty injectors...

Might be a silly question but is it just corrosion?

From what Ive read(and I may be 100% wrong) ethanol corrodes aluminum, not bad enough that it is going to eat through a tank or fuel rail but a small amount of surface corrosion is possible.

Re: Pat's 1983 URQ Alpine white #603 , 20V in progress

I went a little unconventional with the powersteering pump, if you are not reinstalling A/C you can mount it off of the bosses for the compressor. I used a piece of angle iron and made a little bracket that bolts up to the 2 lower bosses. I was questioning whether it was ok to mount the tensioner to ...

I already have boxster S calipers and Apikol adapters on the car and I don't want to have new adapters made if the hub offset is a little different.

Re: cq/s2 clone comparables to prove insurance value please

Statefarm sucks honestly. I have them as well and they seem to be an absolute pain in the ass, the big difference is they are half the price of hagerty.

When I went to Statefarm I said I would like a $20,000 policy for the URQ and my agent said it shouldnt be a problem considering the work done to ...

I dont have a lot of notes on the harness but I dont think there is anything too tricky about it. The AAN wiring diagram and URQ wiring diagram is just about all you need to get the engine running in the car. From what I remember the only thing that needs to be connected to the chassis wiring is the ...

This is what I have on my S6, they have a pad that rests on the car's roof rack and a strap that goes under it and you just tighten down the strap. Works fine.

So its been a long time since I have updated this, car has been together for a few years now. Engine has 10-15k on it and is running strong, ran into a few minor problems but overall the car has been good to me.

I was figuring that they were all different but I am hoping maybe someone has a BTDT and knows of gauges that work with stock senders. Realistically I have the old VDO oil temp gauge that was in the car that works with the stock sender but the oil pressure I think I am going to get a VDO pressure ...
