according to looking up other forums, the 75mm hub lasted until late 85, so 86 and up models, specifically 5000s used 82mm ones
I looked it up, and the 5000 and v8 axles are different lengths.
Would it be possible to find an 85 axle, and have the 5000 outboard spline welded onto my v8 axle?
any ...

Re: 5K uprights, and V8 hubs?
any ideas?
I looked up all the 75mm OD wheel bearings that came on Audis, and none of them have the correct ID to run the V8hubs, they have IDs of 39
What I am thinking now is if it is possible to run an axle that would correspond to the upright? My question is would I be able to both it up to the ...

Re: 5K uprights, and V8 hubs?
The 200 does not use the same style hubs as the 5000. 200 and v8 both use the axle bolt. The 5000 uses the axle nut.
You can use 200 and v8 hubs in 5000 strut housings. Wheel bearings are the same dimensions between 5k and 200 housings.
the V8 wheel bearings must be different than the 200 ...

Re: Coilover question: spring rates
Be careful with bilstein if you ask them to revalved and shorten. Both nick and I have been through hell with them trying to get it right. They can't seem to figure out what we want and always shorten the strut in a completely useless way lol.
All they are doing is revalving them. I emailed them ...

Re: Coilover question: spring rates
UPDATE: it terms of my suspension rebuild.
Conies are being sent out to be revavled, as they are already leaking
Took my fronts apart. They are using an audi 5000 upright, with a 40mm inverted damper. Its a bilstein unit, but before they started putting their logo on things, so it is old. Go in ...

Re: Coilover question: spring rates
Thanks for all the advice! I will definitely have them revolved, just need to find somewhere to do this, hopefully close by
All thats left to do now is figure out what strut inserts I have in my sellholm suspension.

5K uprights, and V8 hubs?
Is it possible?
I have a set of coilovers using 5000 uprights
They have a 5000 hub, part number 447 407 615 A, which I understand is the hub part number for the Quattro, 200, and 5000
These do not work with V8 axles, correct?
The v8 part number is 441 501 653 B, also the part number for the v8 ...

Re: Coilover question: spring rates
Springs that stiff will without a doubt require some revalved shocks.
definitely
I'd go 650\700 if you really want it stiff and trackable. It wouldn't be too nice for the street though. I think if I had to do it again on mine I might go 550/600 or so for an aggressive Street setup.
thanks ...

Coilover question: spring rates
Several questions about you guys running custom coilovers
Based on your threads, most seem to be running 350-500ish spring rates.
Since I don't think my V8 is going to be much of a daily driver, probably just a being obnoxious car, id like something very stiff
I was thinking 650 front 700 rear ...
