Re: 1995 B4 90 Quattro Sport For Sale
Yea Martin did one with a v6 90 and ever since I have thought that would be a great car and recipient for a TDI swap. AWD, four doors, modern enough to feel solid, good looking, and 30 to 40mpg pretty easily. I know they will fit.....just a matter of money and time.

Re: 1995 B4 90 Quattro Sport For Sale
Dave, do you think that a 2.5 TDI would fit in the bay? Like I have so often heard from the crowd......seems ashamed to swap the TDI into FWD. The only down side is that your buddy Blaine wouldn't like that I had found an AWD home for the TDI.

Re: Battle Born 2014 - Book Dyno Time NOW
So Jim and Sean's cars were the fastest huh? That might be a fairly accurate statement and for sure Jim's Vomit Comet is faster than my Urq. I bought him coffee when we stopped for gas, lined up side by side at the turn signal leading into the 215 onramp. I figured that with him having to juggle ...

How long has this project been going on? I haven't spent much time on MG for awhile, but somehow missed this build all together. I like what I see and glad you made the migration over to the project pad. Keep us updated....these kind of projects are exciting to read.

Re: Bosch spark plug failures
It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like they are melted rather than broken to me. Getting hot enough to melt doesn't sound like a fault of the plug. Hank and I have been running Bosch tri-tip plugs in our 20vt cars for awhile now and other than fouling under high boost haven't had any ...

Re: Ben's Oceanic PTE5857 AAN 4kq - Turbo question
Ben, is your return angled down all the way to the oil pan? I burned a bunch of oil with my Urq before realizing that I had a bit of a natural trap with my return line that was backing up oil into the CRA and blowing it by the seals. Rerouting solved my issue.

People will just have to just remember it's a work in progress.
Yea......so aren't they all? I'd need a full page to list all the things wrong with my Urq and another page or two for the wish list of things I'd like to do. I think I would be happy if I could just get the list to start shrinking ...

Re: Toph's 1990 3b 01e Coupe Quattro drives!
looks good Toph!! I wouldn't worry much about the water until it gets worse. Keep an eye on the over flow and run it would be my suggestion. Besides, anytime you do an overbuild and everything is cleaned up, painted, or both, you know something is going to let loose to give it the initial break in ...

Nice doors Martin, but I'm not surprised. The parts you have collected thus far blows my mind. I'm not sure how you do it but I almost expect to see this sort of stuff now. To shock us now you'd almost have to find an aluminum block for your sport. Wait, you don't already have Michele Mouton in ...

Re: Strut Mount Solutions
Just saw this post.....I've had the Comps on my Urq now for about 10k miles and havent had any problems to speak of. That said, they are noisier which is to be expected going with a solid setup. The one thing that I really like about them is the ease of pulling the one piece struts now that I have ...

Alright Nick. When you go you really get at it. Was that the compression on the 7a or the 3b? Pretty decent numbers but higher than I would expect from a 3b.

Very nice project. Great work! Thanks for bringing this project to the Pad. Looking at all the work you have done makes me think I ought to get out and do some work on my Urq. Re: Toph's 1990 3b 01e Coupe Quattro
As long as the marks are lined up, it wouldn't matter on the base orientation other than the physical location of wires and such as long as the cap spark plug wires are lined up with the rotor at top dead center pointing at the #1 cylinder and they progress in the right firing order. You usually ...

Re: brake line routing advice needed PLS, t44 brake mc into
This is how I ran the brake lines on my Urq using the T44 MC. I ran the the two lines out of the MC closest to the vacuum assist to the front brakes, while the outlet further out is run through the proportioning valve first before running back to the tee at the rear of the car. I don't know about ...

Re: Phil's 20vt 5ktq. Bad clutch hydros?
Yea that sounds like a bad master. The worse part is that they are a pain to get to under the dash in the pedal cluster and trying to change it out without getting fluid on the carpet. If I remember right, I think I rebuilt mine in the 5ktq with a $10 kit, but that was a few years back.
