Now I know why I want hood pins. That possible fire scare is exactly what I worry about. Really like the pic Hank gave you as well. So did you drive today?

Great picture! All he needs is a booster seat and some pedal extenders.

So I had a chance to do a little work and get Her Urq running over the holidays. It still has some problems, but the clutch is holding 15psi of boost just fine and the engine is running real well. It still has small oil and water leaks which are making a mess of the underside, but I couldn't stand to not take the opportunity of the time off and Hank down for New Years, to do a little driving and tuning. It looks like I'm going to get full boost at about 3600-3700rpm, but that is to just 15psi. I can't believe as hard as it's building at that point that 25psi is going to be but maybe another 100rpm. It's very streetable and it looks like Hank's son Kellen is already trying to sweet talk grandma out of her car. :D

For those of you that were at the last Battle Born Vegas GTG, you will probably recognize this clip as the same drive we did from Mt. Charleston to Lee's Canyon. The only difference is that I did it yesterday at the end of the day and there was hardly any traffic so I got to run it pretty spirited.

I wanna race this thing... :slap:

What's the handicap on a stroked 20v running 15lb against a measly little 20v on 22lb anyway??

Ha Ha.....No stroker, just the 2.2l 20vt. It hasn't even been bored out for oversized pistons....just OEM AANs in there. I am ready to run with you however, but lets not forget the 4:11 vs 3:89 gearing that you have on me. We better do it soon though because I'm about ready to start adding boost.

Sean, you should have drove up the mountain yesterday with me. We could have played on the cutover. There was hardly anyone up there. It was way fun with way cold intake air, but a bit on the thin side. :-)

We probably should roll up soon. With any luck I'll grenade that 20v now, giving me just enough time for a 20v swap before Pikes Peak.

Awe heck - just remembered - the rear diff is going to fail first ;o{

Hank, you got a block for me? *evil grin*

I don't recall Kellen in the Integrale.... ;)

I am pretty sure the 15psi will trump the 20v. THere were a few looking down at the laptop moments where Dad says "hank, we are doing a buck thirty". Thing rips for just 15 psi and minimal tuning. You two should run before he cranks it up to 25psi and around 420whp :)

Congratulations John.

I'm glad you got the clutch issue figured out. Another Iroz urq to terrorize the neighborhood!!!!

Should be amazing when you crank the boost up...........that poor intercooler :D

Now your car is motivating me to go work on the Sport.

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Oh yea thats right......forgot about the little intercooler. :( 420whp might be dreaming for this setup and intercooler, but really is all I want out of this car is to be able to outrun my buddy at work with his new Camaro SS. What do the geeks think I will have to have to be able to do that?

I say you relocate the oil cooler to in front of the radiator like Sean did on his Helios car and then find a welder to help you fabricate the biggest possible intercooler you can fit in the stockish location. Brandon did this to his URQ, and I imagine he kept the oil cooler in the OEM location. Another option for the oil cooler is just put one where the aux radiator is.

There is another setup I was looking for but couldn't find of a much wider one that is slanted back more towards the tire. It looked like quite a bit of intercooler.

Im confident there are more possible configs for AWIC than A2A (without cutting the core support).

With the accessories removed from the pass side there is more room for the AWIC than a 944T intercooler. If not I think it would still fit on the drivers side near the radiator area.

Picture this: AWIC under hood, reservoir and pump in the trunk, and the heat exchanger nestled between the deck lid and my rally spoiler where the oil cooler went on the rally cars.
