those are the stock wheel bolts, I think when you convert to studs you go to an M16 nut....someone will either confirm or correct me ;-)

Re: Frosty's Faux Rally CQ - exhaust vid and rs2 rear instal
Thread size remains as-is, M14, you can't change that. Only thing that changes is the socket size you need to use for OE bolts vs. lug nuts. With OE bolt syou use Hex 17, with lug nuts you need Hex 19, but in either case the stud/bolt are M14x1.5 pitch.

p.s. Why can't you use the hubs with your brakes?

Re: Frosty's Faux Rally CQ - exhaust vid and rs2 rear instal
the lugs i had laying around are m12's but are still a 19mm socket, they are what match up on the TT's studs. maybe the adapters i have decrease the bolt size? i'll have to look into that. I know that I could take off the nuts i have on the porsche and use them with your studs, but the TT ones won't work sadly. Hence why i asked if you still had yours lol
anyways, the urs4 machined hubs put the rotors at a 3mm offset (avg depending on how much was machined) compared to the s2 hubs. my caliper carriers are machined to work with s2 hubs, they would need about 3mm shaved off for them to work with my big reds. otherwise the rotors are too close to one side vs the other.
I'll have my carriers machined and re-anodized (steel), and then i'll use your hubs and brakes on the nicer pearl car that's getting the stronger motor

plugs and wires are odd, i'm going to have to do some weatherproofing and figure out how to wire the suckers up better.

Glad to see they showed up in one piece. The wireing shouldnt be too bad. Looks like a standard single bulb to 2 bulb split. It does look like they could use a good rewire though. Have fun. Any thoughts about selling the B4 euro's?

Re: Frosty's Faux Rally CQ - exhaust vid and rs2 rear instal
put some 3m or stongard-like protection on those lenses...you don't want to know how difficult it is to replace the sealed lens/reflector in the headlight assembly, basically the bracket must be carefully cut off and re-glued if you can even find a replacement valeo unit.
Wiring? you will need to find power and ground for the relays, and then an H4 pigtail if you still have the stock headlight wiring.

Re: Frosty's Faux Rally CQ - exhaust vid and rs2 rear instal
well... 225/55/17 tires really don't work too well with a 20mm offset. the tires sit right below the fender.
lotsa rubbing with any bump or turn. but damn do they look beefy.
popping the coilovers on tomorrow and raising the car to fix the problem.
rally car status soon to be achieved.

Re: Frosty's Faux Rally CQ - exhaust vid and rs2 rear instal
Alright, Pictures.

i installed the 2bennet coilovers, covered the threads with antiseize then wrapped them in vinyl tape to protect them. I have them set as high as they can go in the front, and the rears are just a few threads down. This achieves an overall ground to fender of about 27.5" compared to the 24.5" on most front coupes stock.

Tires are 225/55/17, they're a bit big... i wouldn't recommend going this big as i go have some rubbing issues when turning tightly. but in a straight line and around corners at speed there's no problem.
I have a slight issue with one of the rear tires hitting the front of the fender wall corner. Not sure why my wheel is so off centered? How do you fix this?

compared to front

roof rack and votex headlights are installed as well, i think it looks pretty good from the front. lights not as good as the b3 euro's or b4 euro's though.
more pictures.

Nice. The LR wheel is not off center, just appears like that. Because you lifted the car it essentially pushes the wheel forward - see how your strut is angled. I can't tell how the RR sits from your pics, but you may try correting this by moving the subframe, and ball joints, but you won't have too much wiggle room. Go with proper AR tires.

Re: Frosty's Faux Rally CQ - Lifted With Beefy tires and Lig
the rear right has more room then the rear left (possibly because i'm missing the trim piece). it really only needs about 1/4 of clearance. It's just rubbing against the trim piece, and only under hard turns/acceleration.
I wanted to go with a taller tire for winter, but i just went a tad too high.
a 225/50/17 series woulda been better. the tires i believe are 26.9" tall. a 26.5 would of been just fine. I also believe that because my offset is so far out that is an issue as well. I was a guinea pig, and i can now tell people what NOT to do. And that's how we learn.
Still love the look of this though. hah

Probably you can put the right size tires on those rims. That size is OEM for A8 and Allroad. I had them on my S6 avant and they were goofy and also rubbing. Wait for the right dip in the road and You will destroy your fender liners, tires and probably more.
That size is equal to 255/35/19, think about it.

Re: Frosty's Faux Rally CQ - Lifted With Beefy tires and Lig
^^just did a rallyx with said tires and only rubbed a little. I'm only rubbing the front flexible part of the fender liner, i'll trim that up or bend it forward soon. In the rear the rubbing stopped. just needed to put a lil groove in the plastic trim.
plus, i do plan on lifting the car some more in the future. i need to trade the springs, these are short and stiff. i need taller and softer.

Just read this through from the start....
Nice work, glad the bumper arrived safely and all fitted as it should
I really like the all red coupe rear lights I have got to get me a set of them and a US licence plate holder to match.
You can keep the US front end styling!!!! Man, are those bumpers ugly
