so i aint going. but boy would i like to. trailering the car all that way, multiple stops, wont leave it outside for your life, hell no.

so i took the car here, www.horsepowerconnection.com , for the exhaust manifold work. dropped it off, and the garage is lonely.

the intake manifold is done. and the AWIC will be this weekend also. but i am not going to get it, there is no point there is nothing to mount it to right now.

the catch can and valve cover will be done by next weekend. and the fuel cell as well.

got some logistics to do. plan the AWIC reservoir. i am going to modify the 12 gal aluminum fuel cell i have here. and i can start on the gauges, as the tach arrived today i guess.

but it is unfortunate that i am not going to be able to run this car at our track day. June 1st is just too damned close. the guy that has all my head parts and head bailed. i hope he has sent me my stuff back ($3700). now to find a head guy. i have two more in mind, one is real busy and the other hardly gets back to me. whatever. no more rush though on the car.

and Brian did a quick look-thru on the cage and says i should have no problems on certs for it.

i cant wait for the next time i put pictures here... its going to be exciting.... manifolds, turbo, etc all mounted up. WOW.

and Johnny, weld the rear doors closed, i will consider it a "coupe" being it only has two doors then :D

ya, Chris, i live ~1.2 hrs inland of the Pacific Ocean. and think, the drive would be longer for Javad and crew, as well as people like Mike Hood if he is going.

not happening. painted yes. blasted, nope.

not me. no interest. i am going to start working on lines. i can at least make up single ends if not complete hoses.... joy, too, working with the prickly little wires!!!!

and Issam, can you find me the tracking number from Tial? thanks. hate to buy another pair and sit on them as well.... but i will if i have to.

refill intercooler? AWIC... refill when water is warm? this car is in the build stage, nowhere near complete... thanks for the props... you are always welcome to make the trip out west to do it here, as well. its only ~6000 miles round trip.... from e-town that is...

so i been dinkin around while the car is gone :( i(i miss it you see :slap: )

i built the harnesses for the fuel pumps. quick disconnects. and i spent some time on the gauges. i wired the lighting and the power and grounds all up, on quick connects as well. when i get to the rabbit and see what colors i used for which sender, i will wire in the plugs for the signals as well. nothing like keeping things the same. less confusion.

also, i built the lines for the fuel pump, as much as i can anyways, without the pumps mounted and the car here. also did the lines (as far as i could) for the catch can. this makes less work at the time when the car gets back.

and for a major cleanup of the garage... no car in the way. its pouring rain out, typical Oregon weather. so it looks like no work outside. i wanted to do the B4 conversion (front end) on the Lago today.... maybe after i clean the garage i will primer the hood and do it inside, tomorrow evening... have it all, just lack time. and i gotta do the front Cup Kit as well. i think i have too many things going at once. haha

Have you thought about putting a check valve between the pumps and the 'Y' connection? That way if one of the pumps stops, you won't get fuel flowing back through it.

i have. the fitting that comes with the pumps is a banjo style and i dont run that type of setup. i did find info on Speedline check valves, @ $50 each.... but i have read some negative feedback from them, in that the o-ring has failure or problems. newer design has the spring to help hold it, but i am still not finding them.

if a pump does shut off, AFR will know it real fast. and technically, the level i want to run is right on the ragged edge for one pump, so two sharing the load really cuts down on the load of a single pump. it would be bad any way around it to have a pump failure and lean out...

i am still trying to find the upgraded speedflow units, they are pretty short. available with either -6 or -8AN outlet.

i did find the newer ones and have them ordered Mark. thanks for checking (pun intended) on me HAHAHA

I was actually going to suggest the same thing...Parker and Apollo also make small check valves, but they are normally NPT, so you'd have to adapt them...

and then this big ass turbo. not super easy to find a spot for it. just so happens there is a place that will accommodate it just nicely. right there.

I'm sure looking forward to when the rabbit is done and you can work on the coupe full time. I figure you could problably have the coupe at the track in an hour or two if you could dedicate full time to it. As always...it's looking good and starting to look faster with every addition.

haha. coupe is a few months off. going to miss the private track day (June 1st) but it will run this year, even if i have to run the rabbit motor haha.

i have had no cars here to work on. been doing garage organization really. tossing old stuff, storaging some other stuff. shelves mainly.

and this motor in the coupe, its for mock up purposes only. its an empty block, and the head is a spare AEB (highly desirable (i have 3 :) ) ). thye coupe is actually at the shop that tuned the rabbit, they are doing the exhaust. its hard trying to figure out that stuff. but they are professionals. www.horsepowerconnection.com 4" exhaust? hows that gonna work? open pipe, off the turbo and out thru the side of the front bumper low in front of the tire. no other choice, and twin open dump tubes as well...

4" downpipe and 4" all the way to the exit? That sounds like just a means of directing the hot gases, but esentially open exhaust from the turbo on out. :o
It ought to be good and loud and not cause any back pressure to speak of. I'm interested in how the logistics will work. Have they already got a plan or are you still in the planning and deciding stages? 8)

its 4" from where it (turbo) sits to a hole they will make in the lower front bumper, off to the side in front of the wheel, down LOW..... and yes, it will be loud. and free flowing. no reason to restrict it. the turbo has a 4" V-band outlet. the compressor outlet is 3.5" V-band, and the compressor inlet is 5" :o

wow..... thats alot of turbo in there. see now why the fender well had to go bye-bye....
