Still getting parts and budget all sorted out. I feel like there's been some good progress and hopefully over the winter break I can figure out what the bottom end will end up being and find a workable wiring harness.

In the meantime, I created this google doc that will be used to track what parts are being used for future reference for people who may want to attempt the same thing. For those of you who have provided parts and want to be recognized there let me know and I can put in your mg username :)

More than likely there are missing parts in the spreadsheet. Let me know what those are so they can be added :D

Got the ECU yesterday. Just need to find a test vehicle to make sure it's good.

On a different note, the 90 let out a massive white cloud the other day when taking off from the parts store. Literally created a wall of smoke. Got to the stop light and the smoke dissipated. Started off gently at the green light and within 100 yards no smoke.

Still need to do a compression test to see what's going on. I'm hoping for the best but this could mean an early tear down, which isn't good because both me and my wife are going to school and need two vehicles.

On the bright side, it could mean an early start on the swap!

Ill be sure to put up the results of the comp test.

That's too bad. I've fogged a good half block or so after a good right! Funny thing is a dude in a Camaro drove through it and looked at me like I just blew the engine; I was just laughing my ass off since I knew it was just the CCV flooding.

Short update...I bought a motor :) A 3b with turbo, flywheel, clutch, wiring harness and ECU. It's on a truck somewhere between here and Massachusetts at the moment. While this may be the more expensive way to go, it will be better in the long run as it will allow for mild updates as my boost hunger grows. The current plan is to take a couple days off work between Spring and Summer semesters, get a group of helping hands, some good food and get it done over an extended weekend. At this point it looks like I'm still needing to address/acquire the following:

- Fuel lines
- oil lines
- Some kind of air filter
- MAF
- Downpipe
- Intercooler piping

I'm sure there are other things but can't think of them at the moment.

3" downpipe ok? I have one that can be modified if you go that route.

Darin that would be awesome! Let me know when that 80 is in the garage and I'll come up to check it out and sift through the piles :)

I was going to have Hank make me up a downpipe but if you have one and it doesn't take much modding...

I doubt you'll wait until April to swap this thing in! Clean it up good and make sure it's ready to go!

See? I wasn't lying :) I was hoping to leave most of the stuff on there to save on getting new gaskets, but it looks like I'll be taking it all off, cleaning, and reinstalling. It will be fun to do over the next couple months along with the wiring harness.

Speaking of which... ... going to need some help on that one :hide:
