Loxxrider's 200 20v Revver: See you on "The Project Pad"
Looks like today didn't go to well for you. Maybe through some logs up of it if you can.
I had bad day with car too :(. My fuel problems got a lot worse. It turns out my fuel return line inside the tank is plugged. tried unclogging it but no luck, so i need a new tank. I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to the return (should be 0 psi) and it pegged the gauge at 100psi, so this is why i kept blowing regulators. i hope the injectors are ok. I've heard the fuel tank is a nightmare to drop since you have to drop the exhaust and driveshaft too. prolly just cut and weld it (the exhaust). Right now i've got the return hooked up through the vent line for the charcoal canister, kinda ghetto but it beats running a garden hose to the fill cap on the side of the car :tard: .

lol dam man, o well at least your problem is something you can fix and be done with
my problem NEVER ENDS
I started it up today and it just turned off by itself about 15 seconds later. Then I started it back up and it drove fine for 15 minutes. Then it drove back home later tonight for 15 minutes without a hiccup too.
I'm going to have to put it back to stock again to make the trip to Tampa (Wednesday) and Gainesville (Saturday) for peace of mind.
On the bright side of things, I attempted to teach my girlfriend how to drive a manual last night. She did quite well! We still aren't ready to take it to the streets yet tho. She was a little worried when the car stalled a few times (because of the ECU...not her :(
), and also when the RPM's started going up without anyone touching the gas pedal (again wtf). That one hasn't even happened to ME yet while driving this car.
Regardless, she was able to start off in first gear relatively smoothly and shift to second alright a few times. Other times she had a really hard time figuring out where the RPMs needed to be in order to make the transition into second smoother. I'll just tell her to keep her foot off of the pedal next time and focus on making the clutch smooth.

tried driving the car today and it stalled 3 times before I could get down my street.
dammit
please chime in if you can because I'm about a minute away from putting it all back to stock AGAIN.

Yes, the thing is I have TWO VEMS units and they both have problems with values changing, etc.
I just have a feeling its all in the configuration or something stupid like that.
Kevin has done his best to help out :/
If something doesnt get worked out then I would definitely like to talk to Marc, but VEMS sorta worries me a bit at this point.

It doesn't seem like it??

So when you put your factory ecu in the car runs fine?
The 3B/AAN stuff can be pretty sensitive when it comes to trigger hardware configuration and config setup. Last I knew, Kevin builds all his ecus in house rather than having the company build them (which as far as I know is why he calls his systems "lugtronic", even though it still is VEMS hardware internally). I've got several projects going on right now that prevent me from just giving away free support time to help Chris out. Judging by the symptoms it sounds like a combination of dodgy stock wiring (the stalling in the rain problem) and some software compatibility problems, both of which are fixable given proper diagnostics.

Yes car runs fine when the factory ECU is in.
I thought it was running iffy in the rain...but now it seems that that was just a coincidence since it has been bright and sunny the past few days and i couldn't even make it off of my street today.
I'll check all the grounds that need to be checked, I just dont really know where to start. Most of the wiring in the car looks mint.

well if it runs fine with the factory ecu, its got to be the vems, hardware or software there is an issue
Agreed, but maybe the VEMS is less sensitive to a bad ground than the stock ecu or something?
When I think logically about it, that seems very unlikely, but I hate to blame EVERYTHING on the system.

The car runs fine with the stock ecu though
I'm not saying the box is definitely defective, I'm just saying the problem is definitely stemming for the ecu. Whether it be the tune, configuration or installation. This is a plug and play box right?
:stupid: so why are you running the VEMS already? have you do extensive mods? anythign wrong with a oem ecu w/chip for now?

I bought it in august and the first start attempt was in December...

Yeah, thats what my brain is telling me too.

Because I knew there would be bugs to work through. Thats just how it is with standalones. I thought maybe a week or month of bugs though. That way when I went to a big turbo there would be nothing to do but tune.
After all of this, nothing is wrong with stock ecu and chip lol.
If I do end up getting money back, then I may very well just buy a chip and coils and call it a day for a while.
