I sure hope so.

Just realized I have no idea what color I ordered. I'm thinking it will probably come default polished, but if its not then I guess I like a surprise lol.

Yeah, it definitely is. Space constraints will probably force me to put it on the upper charge pipe after the intercooler. Its got plenty of space up there.

I just got back from HF with a shiny new racing floor jack and some other little bits. Should be nice to have in my trunk in case of emergencies and for spinning coils up and down for various reasons :)

Not much is new, still just been saving money and collecting parts, just ordered head studs today, which leaves intercooler/piping, exhaust manifold parts and small stuff, a LOT of small stuff, left. Though I have been waiting for my online class to end (The final is next week) so I can finally get some free time on the weekends to go home and start building stuff.

Well, you'd better hurry up! I want to see some Holset action soon. I might come up in the Tampa area in early August to say hi to a few people (maybe Ripo from page 79, you, and James if I can) so we should plan something while you are working on the E30. Depends if I'm willing to waste money on gas. It'd be good to make a trip to g-ville to unload some crap before moving in for good again though.

Good luck on your final and keep me updated on the car.

On the topic of my 200, it seems like my gas gauge isn't working anymore. It hasn't moved from the half-way mark in a few days. :wtf: I want a fuel cell :D

Warning: from here on in this post, its BMW-related off-topicness. Read at your own discretion

I just bought all new brake stuff for the E36. Brand new caliper to replace a frozen one, new SS. braided lines for all 4 corners, new rotors, new pads, and new brake fluid. It'll be my first time bleeding the brakes myself and I don't expect the lines to come off like butter...should be interesting :D

I also had another suspension install experience today. MKIV VW GTI. Had a cup kit consisting of Bilsteins and Neuspeed springs and went to some cheap, shitty coilovers. An offshoot of Vmaxx. They are shit, shit, shit, but he wants them so he can go lower lol. Makes me feel so good about my custom coilovers on the 200. They are soooo nice compared to other stuff out there.

Also looking into lots of suspension work for the E36 as well. Its GOING to get new front control arms with all new ball joints and polyurethane bushings (really needs those badly as the balljoints are shot) and new tierods. Might do some more bushings in the rear when I check it out. Looking into doing Bilstein sports all around with some H&R springs. Can do it for ~$650 total and should ride nice and look nice too.

andddd...that will take care of everything until I turbo it MUAHAHAHAHA :D

Sorry for the stupid off-topicness...I don't have a build thread for that car so I just needed to vent some of it so you guys could make suggestions if you want ;)

Yeah well definitely have to coordinate something. I should be home just about every weekend working on it till its done.

Thats two things I want to do to my car also. All my brake lines look old and who knows when the last time the fluid was changed. And my car could definitely use a suspension bushing refresh as there is a nasty shake after 80mph that I haven't been able to figure out yet.

I can't wait to hear the awesome sound of air being sucked in to its doom abnormally as i push the throttle  :D

Basically still stock other than an M50 manifold, short ram intake (custom shizzz lol), and an AC Schnitzer catback.

Its not mine though. Its my dads. With the amount of money and work I'm putting into it though we have agreed its kinda partially mine however. Its a great little toy to have, even in nearly stock form. Its just fun to drive period. Should be a riot with the upgraded suspension.

Oh and I forgot to mention, I'm definitely going to throw an M3 front bumper on this summer if I get the chance. Totally completes the look.

LED trouble light? Awesome effect - I'll have to remember that one...

And every time I see your sig picture, I wonder what those wheels would look like on the V8.

Its my LED shop light, yes. I didn't mean to get that effect actually. I was just trying to light the whole car with it (pic was at night with no flash (on camera or off) so the shop light was the only source. I was "painting" the car with the light and of course I got some residual light painting effect on the camera because I wasn't perfect. I'm not complaining though...I like it :)

I wonder what they'll look like on my 200! I really want to get them on. Just need tires and some low profile lug bolts.

well it looks like its not happening today either. This time I have NO Idea why not though. I'm starting to worry about him. Two of my friends have also tried contacting him and can't and his voicemail is full. I'm thinking something must be wrong. I'm not mad about it or anything, just hope everything is OK.

In the meantime I think I'm going to order a set of ID1000's and tune the car on them :)

Pics of super awesome new style Tial BOV when I get home. I don't understand how they got it to flow 60% more than the old 50mm?!? pretty awesome. Might not ever need a second one 8)

I also might stop by Mosler this afternoon, see if I can't get me an internship for next summer. If you don't know who/what Mosler is check it out... http://www.Moslerauto.com

Well I stopped at Mosler and they were closed for the day. Maybe next week. I'll be more prepared with a resume'.

Here are some pics of the beautiful chunk of metal I just spent so much on and am now sad about my bank account status because of.

http://www.photoshop.com/accounts/52d42 ... c23bc43fe4

http://www.photoshop.com/accounts/52d42 ... 9a1cf4d9d6

Also, I was this close -----> || <------- to buying ID1000's today only to find out that a paypal transfer is taking longer than expected thus making the purchase impossible. :curses:

Good price from Quintin at USRT :)

Will purchase next week I guess. I'll be going with the 48mm version for use in one of Hank's intake manifolds (allows for bigger plenum).

That means I'll need custom fuel rail. I'll be getting one thru Hank. Here is the question of the day for me:

Custom fuel rail right...I need to make it such that its easily swapped out between -8 AN (for later) and stock lines (for now) OR something that can adapt at the FPR. I don't feel like spending big money on the fuel system just yet as far as lines, reg., and pump are concerned otherwise I'd just redo it all. I've already spent way too much this summer lol. I guess Hank can help figure this out. PM me bud :)

Decided it was time to fix SOMETHING on this car. Front pass window doesn't function correctly and the ac comp leaks R134. Can't have no a/c AND no windows while in Florida in the summer lol.

Sooo I decided to tackle the compressor tonight. So far I just got it out. Now I'm going to replace all of the gaskets including the L-shaped one that goes along the outside of the manifold. The only place I can find that has one is here:

http://www.polarbearinc.com/webstore//i ... uct_ID=422

anyone know of a better place to get it? I hear they aren't available pretty much anywhere else.

OK scratch that last part in italics...I opened it up and the L-shaped one is in great condition as far as I can tell. There are some other regular, circular ones though that are visibly shot. Almost in pieces. I'm going to try just replacing those. I am pretty confident that will work.

So once thats all finished up hopefully it will hold pressure for more than a week like before. If it does, I'll be sooo much happier driving everywhere!

Shitty part is that my blower motor is squeaky. I'm sure that'll go out soon. I hear its a fun job.

Next up to tackle is finding out why the window reg has been making crunching noises and wont allow the window to come up anymore. I guess I could grease it and then try it again.

Oh! I almost forgot...I need to find out why my gas gauge is stuck in the middle. When I turn the car on, it rises slowly from empty up to the middle like normal. Even when I go around turns and stuff I can see the needle fluctuate a little...like normal.

The only thing is it never moves from the general area of the middle of the gauge. Been doing that since about last week. So the question is, is it in the cluster? or is it in the tank?

Its so frustrating having the car apart with easy turbo access and not being able to install the Holset just because I don't have a welder. I could have it all on right now otherwise.

The blower motor doesn't usually die, the bearing just wears out. One of the Passat models has the same blower motor and you can find it at a junk yard.

For the gas gauge being slow, almost stuck you should do the res mod. Audi never got it right.

give me a call if youd like to go into more detail

Thanks for clearing it all up Corey.

I put everything back in and will get a charge soon. Fingers crossed that it'll hold for a while. At least until the winter!

We discussed the stuck gas gauge over the phone and came to the conclusion that the arm is probably stuck in the tank. I filled it up to about half tank one day and it just stayed there since (except for when its first started of course). If there was a loose connection somewhere along the line I'm almost positive it wont even read on the gauge. I have BTDT.

So up next is that and the reg.
