Fo sho! Thats a pretty cool accomplishment! My thread is just a bunch of banter, not like yours with all the technical stuff and what not. Although you did add some technical banter to mine.lol.

Bought an Optima for it. Everything is peachy again :)

It was hilarious. Great greasemonkey encounter at the Autoparts store. I ask for an Optima. Of course the guy was like OK what car is this for...I regretfully oblige and tell him the details. He says, oh no we don't have Optimas for that car. I'm like uh, I don't care if it says it fits my car or not...I just want one. He's like no, it has to be a certain kind. I proceeded to argue with him a bunch and the (lady) manager came out and showed me to the batteries finally. Just silly.

Sounds pretty funny, if annoying, the Halfords parts guys over here are like that, though you can just buy the battery you want they still try to help as apparently every battery is specific to the car, try asking them if they know what a battery actually is or how it works and get them to explain how this other battery will not work as a battery in your car.

So somehow someone copied my debit card info and PIN and tried buying a bunch of shiz up in New York.

None of the transactions went thru however because I'm a poor bastard hahahahaha

On a more on-topic note, I am getting my 1100's tomorrow. Tuning commences!

Ugh, not cool! Its happening way too much these days. Glad you got yours sorted out though Nate.

I'm closing my account because I HATE Wachovia and this seems like as good a time as any to finally get it all transferred over to my institution of choice. Really has nothing to do with the current situation...I just don't like the way their system works. Their loss prevention is pretty good though!

OK sooooo semi-tuned now to around 12.5 psi. Feels pretty good BUT I'm getting misfires up top at WOT. Seems to do this at pretty much any boost though. Only at WOT. I can go non-WOT and hit 10psi or so with no issues. When I had the boost turned way down to 5 or 6 I was getting this issue at WOT though. Still haven't wrapped my head around this quite yet.

Brand new plugs (BKR7E) gapped to .028...I'm thinking they might need to drop down to .024 or so.

Dwell is at 4.16 in boost. Seems like plenty on the LS2 coils.

AFR sometimes dips down to .82 or so...that could possibly be giving me these issues, but I don't really think so.

Thoughts?

loxx, check your coil wires...Open the hood in the dark and mist them..
Just saw a prob like this on Vems/LS coils, one of the wires was bad and was sparking to the vc.

Haha yesss thats so awesome about the R8 Kuma. It means a lot that ya kept it! We gotta talk sometime so hit me up.

Bear, I REALLY wish I could, but I think I only have one major trip in me each year (Carlisle). Budget doesn't like the thought of H2O unfortunately :(

Nuugen, yeah...this is the third set of plug wires I've had on the car and I'm SUPER careful with them at all times. I will definitely mist them though to double check, maybe tomorrow night. It definitely seems like ignition again :/

Think I might have found the culprit.

I was taking the plug wires off to gap the plugs, and one of them just ripped out. Wasn't pulling on the wires themselves or anything. Just kinda got a little tug on the wire from twisting a certain way to get the plug wire out and it popped/ripped right off. Minimal force.

I had this happen on the other set I had too. I'll be going to a braided core set from Summit per Marc's recommendation. I believe Janis is running the same wires. Who knows how many of the other wires might be nearly torn inside. I'm definitely betting on this being the issue. Fingers crossed! Car isn't exactly drivable right now haha.

On another note, I guess I forgot to mention in here how awesome the FIC 1100's are. Smooth like butter and can go low enough at idle to stall the car out if I want. Flow 1240cc's at 3.8 bar :D

Will do. I just sent Janis a message about it because I'm not too sure which ones they are either.

Anyway, I meant to put braided wires...not solid core. The current ones are solid core and I'm trying to get away from them. I believe 034 uses the same ones as a matter of fact (which I still have a set of because someone was being super douchey wouldn't take them back).

I only ran like 2.5m/s dwell on my old LS2 coils @ 21psi. Why so high on the dwell setting?

I would like to only have to run them that high. They are only that high when the boost goes up. Regular running is around 3. Its had to be that high in the past to diagnose issues and probably to mask bad plug wires and a crappy coil at one point. I assume I'll be able to turn it way down when there are no other spark issues.

Car is still down while I wait for plug wires, but here are some pics of the FIC's ;)

and here is the flow sheet for them. I'd scan it if anyone really wants to see it, but I doubt it so here's a pic.

Yes, they are quite good looking and very small, especially without those adapters on there. Same with the ID's and such. I felt like I was weightlifting when I picked up my stock injectors compared to these lol.
