Loxxrider's 200 20v Revver: See you on "The Project Pad"
Re: Loxxrider's 200 20v: Running Awesomely again :)
Jim, this is just motivation for the future. I don't see it going on the car until probably about a year and a half from now. I plan to build the bottom end of this engine this summer and then turn the H1C up as far as she'll go. (gotta get 01E too) I think it'll be interesting to see what it will make at 35psi +.
Then the plan is to have a custom tube header made (this one in particular http://www.automotive.passengerindustri ... &Itemid=31) and just fab a new dp and modify the ic piping a bit. I know the cast mani will not flow enough for this turbo. The turbo will definitely have to be supported cuz it weighs about 50 pounds (Thats just an estimate, I'll weigh it soon if anyone really wants to know). I pretty much made everything fairly modular so a lot of what I've done already will transfer over. However I'm going to need a 4" dp or something for this turbo. I think it would be good to have 4" dp with a cutout and then leave the rest of the exhaust as is so it can be relatively quiet still. That should be about it to run it. Then comes built head, dry sump, maybe mechanical fuel pump, etc.

Did the shipping label have a weight on it?
Re: Loxxrider's 200 20v: Running Awesomely again :)
ah good idea, I'll take a look when I get back home. They packed it with partA/PartB-type foam so it was packed really well.

DANG CHRIS! That thing is a monster! Btw, that exhaust mani look neat. It looks WAY to big to fit in the small chassis though. :(

Ya thanks Ben. I can get you some info on the mani and what it actually went into if you want. It may well fit a small chassis. Either way, they can be custom made to whatever you want and they are nice, thick steel that isn't likely to crack if supported properly. Also equal length which is awesome.

Apparently Goldfarb just got an HX52 with an 11cm housing. I've never heard of that before. Everything I've ever seen is with 16's. I'd be concerned with surging or just choking it out, but its still intriguing...

Re: Loxxrider's 200 20v: Running Awesomely again :)
Yo man! That will be serious!
Did I see that right a few posts back you are aiming for 1000hp?
You are looking at a lot of fab work coming up. Like rearranging the whole engine bay. Have you started sketching yet?
That radiator will have to be front mount (its almost too small as-is), a big ass FMIC, the EM and IM (Hank?) custom etc.
Good thing you have room on the pass. side o the bay.
This thread will hit 200 pages by the time this is done. YEEAAH!
Oh, and good luck and enjoy!

Re: Loxxrider's 200 20v: Running Awesomely again :)
Chris, I've got it all figured out. Rad can stay right where it is. I've already got a huge FMIC up there. Just have to redo the downpipe (bigger) and do exhaust manifold from the link above probably. Already got a Hank manifold paid for
I'm shooting for probably 7-800whp, so 1000 chp is reasonable.

Yes, water/meth is a possibility, but I think with race gas it won't be an issue at all

Are there some pics of your FMIC setup?
Re: Loxxrider's 200 20v: Really Big Terbo
Ed, its custom but can be reproduced. By Passenger Industries in Canada. Dave (the owner) is a cool guy.
Peter, I need to dig up the good pics of it, but here is somethin to hold you over.
This is essentially how its setup

you can kinda see it in this pic

Here is my H1C next to a GT42 just for sorta comparison to the HX52

Big turb! Thats what I like to see! Going to do a stroker when you do up the engine? 2.5 or 2.7?
Re: Loxxrider's 200 20v: Really Big Terbo
That is rather nice looking. I'm sure passenger or Hank could make something just like that for ya. Looks like its got lots of EGT probe spots too.
Nick, I don't think I want stroker. I feel that more RPMs is the best way to get the power out of this thing and stroker is not the answer for that. That was Dahlback's theory too.

That's my plan too. Rods, 9.5-10.0:1 pistons and bearings for the bottom end and build the head with solid lifters, springs, retainers and some nasty reground cams. That should do nicely

Re: Loxxrider's 200 20v: Really Big Terbo
Dang man, I didn't know you were quite that serious about it
Just know that if you want over 8500 you are also going to want dry sump. Thats the conclusion we came to after some lengthy discussion in a thread here. The pump for dry sump will cost you ~$1000 alone. Not trying to discourage, just prepping you for the cost

That's would be my long term goal of course...lol. Maybe I'll just call it quits at ~8k then. I don't want to go absolutely out of control here but just keep people surprised
.Re: Loxxrider's 200 20v: Really Big Terbo
I hear ya. If you want to call it quits at 8k, you can do that on a stock head (as I do now). If you want the occasional 8500 burst (IE not road racing), then some valve springs and (maybe retainers) will get you there no problem and reliably.

Wow, so you're saying 7800-8k on the bone stock engine is no problem?
