I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions for making sure everything has oil all in it and such since the engine has been sitting for about 4 months. Normally this is not a problem on newly built engines because of assembly lube, but this one never got disassembled/assembled internally.
Unplug the injectors and crank her over for a while to get oil nicely circulated. I do this any time my car sits for more than a few weeks without starting. Then plug them back in and fire her up :vids: :vids: :vids:
:stupid: But also unplug the coils and remove the plugs. The motor will spin much faster on the starter, helping get the oil circulated and the pressure up a little. Then check for leaks. If everything looks good, plug everything back in and fire it up. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have someone there to watch the engine bay while you are cranking, with a fire extinguisher nearby, just in case.

Can anyone compare these to stock ones? I'm thinking the "piston" part is the part that got shortened. I think this makes my suspension travel even worse Please confirm or deny my suspicion. If this is confirmed, I am going to contact bilstein and ask for a refund. If they deny me a refund, I will just have to tell them I will never buy Bilstein again and will steer everyone I know away from them...
I haven't dealt with shortened struts, but I'm assuming that you are shortening them in order to run a low ride height without bottoming out the strut. Correct? Shortening the housing will not achieve that, it will actually make it worse as the shaft will bottom sooner. Now if they shortened the shaft, that would have the desired effect (with a standard housing), as it wouldn't bottom as soon. Measure the shaft length. (yeah, yeah, yeah, "That's what she said." )
Just my thoughts on this...
And to add to what Mark is saying, the Sports already have a shorter shaft than the others, to facilitate use with lowering springs.
I had some trouble at first because I wasn't getting spark. Of course I assumed it would be trigger related since I took it all the way apart, but it turns out I just forgot to plug the coil harness in by the ECU. :dur:
Then I forgot to fill it with coolant lol. Good thing it didn't run for long until I realized it. Its super rich too, thats why it idles like it does in the first vid... No, I didn't get solid lifter cams like Janis or like a trans-am 90 or 200 haha.
Vidz uploading now. Also another vid with it leaned out and some very minor launch control action just so I could have a preview of what the turbo sounds like. Sounds like a fire truck siren lol.

If I had the ic piping plumbed, the exhaust plumbed, and if it was registered you better believe I would be rippin' on it! Sadly, that is not going to happen until this summer. MAYBE this December if I'm really lucky.
Garrett thanks, she is awesome lol. Just wait till the next vid.

There is nothing more I would like to do than experience the sound this thing will make when getting into some boost. The turbo really has a seriously deep sound to it for some reason... not sure why Its got that huge-turbo-spooldown thing going on for it and I like it. Its a weird version of that though.
Yeah, I'm really not sure. Its kinda making me paranoid since I rebuilt it myself, but turbo spins down really nicely and doesn't make contact on the housings or anything. I dunno the H1C sounded kinda funky just free-reving too. Maybe when its plumbed into the ic piping it wont be like that? I've never had a turbo on without it plumbed, so thats the only thing I can think of.

Thanks everyone, the comments are part of what keep me going sometimes!
Hank, I have even better jorts on today. Holes everywhere. They are the only thing left in my drawer after exhausting all of my other work shorts since all of my clothes are at school.
New sig pic will definitely be incoming ASAP!

oh and before I forget, 4" open dp makes for backfires that sound like bombs. I've never scared myself with launch control before today lol. I was so ready for it and knew it was coming and when it was coming... just wasn't prepared for the magnitude of it!
