That all looks really good Derek! I noticed in one pic of the pass. side motor mount that the oil filter looks like it will be very close to the starter and frame. Maybe it's just the angle but it looks like a tight fit...
Man that is gonna be awesome and having the engine lower is going to leave more roon for the twin GT30rs on the top later :-D

it is close, and i'm working on a remote filter location.... i'm just not sure if it should be secret or not

Looks awesome. You're doing quite a bit of work to get that puppy in there so it'll work. The quality of your metal work is very high quality as I follow your posts. I noticed lately you've been posting that you're doing it this way for now but you'll change it later if you feel like it. I got into that habit quite a bit but have broken myself of it. I tend to try to make the right thing the first time, as you seem to be, because I never seem to get back around to making things the way I want them if they "work alright anyways".

the subframes aren't too bad to make, and once i get the car dialed in to where it feels great and responds like i'm wanting, then i'd feel comfortable with redoing it again, and have less adjustments and more permanent fixtures. the rears i'll probably end up doing a bit different from the front since it doesn't require as much adjustment to get right. (fore/aft movement anyhow)

Ok Awesome, so I need to start looking for a set of hats or rotors for that matter. I think once i get past the rotors everything else is down hill. So if anyone comes accross any or wants to sell theirs I would totally be interested if the price is right

i got the drivers side engine mount finished up today. remember the theme "strong"... it's not as pretty as i'd like, but as long as it don't break, i'll be happy for now 

about 3/8" clearance between the subframe and oil pan 8)

the brackets are completely bolt in, so later on, i can do whatever i like... VR6 spare on the shelf? no problemo

while the mounts look bulky from the bottom, they are are tucked in pretty good and completely out of the way. plenty of room for a nice big oil cooler and who knows what else


also got a little wiring started. i'm gonna be running a IIc. i wanted to have a firewall plug on this car. my last one left me with a harness that was one piece from the ecu to the engine, and when you have to pull the engine, it makes it easier with undoing one plug, instead of 15 and then routing the wiring up and out of the way.. blah blah blah..
the right crimper makes the job a cinch..





i've got 9 wires done so far, i'll post some more pics when it's done. the ECU is going to be mounted partially in the glovebox so that i can see the LED of life and get to the COM plug.
another thing that crossed my mind, is that i forgot about the 12mm spacer i need between the engine and trans like i needed on my A6. that will push my trans back another 1/2" and get it back a full 3" from stock..... nice 8)

#1. 034 IIc harness that comes with the ecu
#2/3 all the wires except the alternate map select wire, tach, and power/ground wires for the ecu.
