How tight do the threaded sleeves fit? The generic ones I got were loose on the shock body, the 2B ones I now have I had to put in the press to remove from the old shock and they have a step to capture the snap ring so it can't expand and break loose. Maybe Chris should make some custom ones with his new lathe to try and stop this problem for good. I can post pics of the 2B ones if needed.

Any time man! Just time consuming. Not hard though.

The ones that I have fit decently tight on there, but the idea to have it held closed by the sleeve would be awesome!

*edit* Do your A1 sleeves go over the ring or sit directly on top of them?

OK. I have the same setup on my 635 right now, but the sleeves go over the ring which stops it from coming out. I didn't like the idea of that at first because it induces a different stress in the sleeve, but apparently some guys have been doing them that way for 20+ years with no problem (probably not on the same car for that long, but you get the idea). So either safety wire, or we can look into what size sleeve needs to be fitted to achieve the other mounting method.

The sleeves I got from A1 have "steps" on the inside that achieve the final ID, so as Dan mentioned, they actually slip over the snap ring and hold it closed / prevent it from moving. Hard to see in this photo, but the snap ring is actually encapsulated by the sleeve.

Mine also have steps in them. I'll look more into it today.

Here's a picture of my rear setup where you can clearly see that the sleeve covers the ring. I'm definitely curious to see if yours and Phil's are configured this way as well. *edit* I think that is with the stock snap ring though... not sure if the Akron one is a larger diameter or not. I'm 95% sure it isn't big enough to warrant the sleeve sitting on top of it though. If it was, it would definitely be sitting on a very small section of sleeve/ring and I don't think I would have been comfortable with that.

I chopped out the metal ring inside of the stock rear lower spring perch that sits on that ring and mounted that on/above the ring in the bili sports and then put a big 'washer' on top. There are pics in my thread somewhere... It has been holding great!

Oh wow... I suspected it was that engine, but now I remember seeing the pic. That is epic! The 200 is absolutely gettin' down! What did that car dyno? I tried to search, found nothing.

Wow, that is insane - and to think you are still running stock rods and Exhaust Manifold.

I got a really good look at the car in that video at a local meet (if this is the same one Jesse had built from New England). When I saw the car he was running low boost 10-16 I cannot remember... but it was due to the transmission. What was he running here?

Also this dyno graph, I really hope it's true there is one haha have always been very curious.

I believe he mentioned he was over 20psi now though I cant' sy for sure. He also mentioned not being able to rev it out nearly as high as he'd like as there are still some tuning kinks to be worked out. 6800 is his limiter.
