You want the high resolution?
Lol at Jim. I think your wheels may need to get on my car soon.

Sure, Its a sweet pic. I'd cut out a strip the height of the block and use it as a dual screen BG (until I have an engine to do it with). I had a similar setup with a R10 engine background.
I really want to put an Audi on the old windows grassy hills background. I had a version with a WRX on it.

Yeah. My next major project will be a custom front clip that does away with the hood latches, and ties into the fender points. That is down the road though. In order to get that size of an IC core in, the support had to be cut.
Thanks for noticing though. Anybody that wants a high res of that picture, send me an email at HankIroz at yahoo dot com

Dang hank! I dig the all business look myself. When you pop the hood it just looks like a monster that rocks out with it's c*ck out!

Re: Hanks 81 URQ Dyno 612whp 527wtq
Well, I have been uber busy the last couple of weeks with the end of the semester, with finals this next week.(Martin and Wiley, I'll get back to you, I promise
). Not much to update other than some clips I made for the URQ to fulfill my project requirement for my Plastic's class.
Mine were shot, when I was in Seans Helios car, I noticed they were shot, My Dad has one good set amongst 2 cars, and Swanson told me he needed some. So I looked at my fractured set and thought I would just take a simple silicone mold of the superglued version. The problem was that it was just too deformed from 30 years of use. I decided to do a ground up clip
SolidWorks Model

Sent it over to the rapid prototype

Made a silicone mold and produced these with the sprue still attached

I made some black ones for my own car as I have the suede headliner

Anyway, fun little project. The PolyUrethane I am using is a bit too stiff for the application, so I have some lower durometer Poly in order.
In other news, a DSY rs2 6 speed showed up at the shop yesterday in addition to the EDU 6 speed destined for the URQ the next time the drivetrain is out. The narrow 5 is holding up really well right now, so I will keep it in there till it makes bad noises. The DSY is destined for my Dads Stroker URQ monster.

Nice job on the clips Hank. It's nice having access to all the tools they have at school isn't it?
Time to get a rapid prototype machine for the lab?

Very nice. I'd like to make some of those plastic trim thingies in a similar fashion

Those brackets look nice!
Speaking of brackets, your dad doesn't want that rs2 trans, it has proconten brackets... I'll step up and swap him since that's the kind of guy i am.

Re: Hanks 81 URQ Dyno 612whp 527wtq
Those brackets should sell like hot cakes...I know mine must have disintegrated many moons ago, as there is just some plastic 'dust' left beneath the fastening screws...so I want a set too...
Question, though...why didn't you add texture and/or remove the RP build lines on the master before making your mold? Or is that phase II, now that the approach worked for you?

looks great Hank,
I think you should put that cad experience into making a billet alloy block with dry sump.
I'll willing to take on the burden my self on this one, and try one out for you.
Cheers,
Craig

I want to start a pool to see how many drivelines Hank can grenade before that stroker car hits the road

Answer to the question is that I started on Friday and had to have it turned in on Tuesday
I have already sanded down one of the poly pieces smooth to get rid of the support material and rapid lines. I will make a master mold of that one with pull out cores so no final machining is needed. Then I will probably make 5 separate silicone molds so that I am not waiting 15 minutes to produce just one. I Probably could have just turned in the RP version and received a good grade, but I wanted to make them in quantity.
So yeah, Phase II will have more flex and no texture like the factory pieces. The factory pieces are actually pretty poor on casting/ parting line quality.
Hank
