Miller Motorsports

Post by roortube »

Sorry I missed you guys at Carlysle, but it was worth it. Today was my first day of a week at Miller Motorsports Park, and it was awesome. Michelin and BF Goodrich are hosting me and a group of others for a week here all expenses paid. After the track we had dinner at Market Street Grill followed by drinks at Bar X. This is going to be a good week if I don't wreck a car!

This week has been awesome! Monday and Tuesday we were in the mustang gt school cars learning technique and lines. Yesterday and today we were in the fr500 mustangs which are lighter and have better tires. Big difference. I've only spun once, coming out of Diablo in the GT. I came out too wide, put the RR tire on the rumble strips at WOT and spun, but kept it on track, recovered going the right way in 2nd and didn't get passed. I've never been much of a Ford or Mustang guy, but these cars are fun. I've been thinking about getting one as a track toy. After the day ended today we got hot laps with the instructors and it showed how much we were leaving on the table. I never got the guts to brake later than half way between the 2nd and 3rd marker going into turn 1 on the west loop. This crazy fuck buried it past marker 1 while talking to me before he lifted.
Tomorrow I'll drive a Raptor on their off road course. I can't wait.

Miller is a blast. FYI, my URQ could hit ~165 down the straight in the full track config. If somebody with more stones was driving and braking later with r comps and pads, I high 170s could happen.

Fast track, waaay to fast for a powerful brick like the URQ
