Condolences indeed! :(

Although it looks awful, it seems to me most of the damage is to wiring? You might want to see if someone wants to buy it as-is to repair rather than parting it out.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm almost tempted to get a 3b harness and see where I stand. But all my vems leads would need to replaced along with ls2 coils and harness and I just think it'll be too much and I'd rather part it.

But anyway here's something I typed up on my iPhone. No prices just gauging interest now.

Everything that is aftermarket has 0 miles on it and is brand new sans the turbo setup. Fire damage is limited to the firewall, engine wiring harness and misc small other pieces.

3b engine with 7a cams, autotech adjustable cam gear, 034 compression dropping head gasket and arp head studs. Rebuilt head. Block has 271k.
7a valve cover with 2 10an bungs welded on
Siemens 870cc injectors
Tread stone fmic with mounts for type44, custom 3 inch piping welded for an Audi 200. Tial q bov flange welded and fitting welded and 3/4 npt barb for iac
Full 034motorsport silicone coolant hose kit
Silicone 034motorsport pcv kit
034 Motorsport ported throttle body with metal 034 throttle cam
Stock 3b intake manifold
034 fuel rail with 3b mounts and 8an fuel lines and fitting for stock manifold
Aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator
Efiexpress ls2 coil pack mount with semi burn ls2 coils and somewhat useable nology hotwires
Ebay turbo manifold, holset h1c / k26 hybrid turbo with stainless steel braided lines and fittings. Custom 3 inch downpipe to a vband
034motorsport bosch044 drop in fuel pump with c4 fuel pump wiring kit
Vems plug and play 3b ecu (leads from ecu to engine bay damaged)

Not installed new in box:
Super tech valve springs
Super tech .5mm oversized valves
Integrated engineering h beam rods

Coilovers:
Front
UFO housings modded for coilovers and b5 s4 brakes
Ground control 450lb springs
Helper springs with isolators
Sleeves
Lower mounts
Upper mounts
Koni sport shocks
C4 mounts

Rear
Ground control 550lb springs
Helper springs with isolators
Sleeves
Lower mounts
Upper mounts
Koni sport shocks

Brakes
Front
Ecs tuning drilled slotted b5 s4 rotors
Hp2 calipers
Ebc green stuff pads
Ecs tuning stainless steel brake lines

Rear
Ecs tuning drilled slotted b7 s4 rotors
034motorsport 300mm brake adapter
B5 s4 rear carriers
Ebc green stuff pads
Ecs tuning stainless steel brake lines

C6 a6 4.2 wheels 18x8 et35 that need paint
Brand new Continental extreme contact 235/35/18 tires

Euro headlights with relayed wiring

And obvious the rest of the chassis. Car has black comfort interior. I really would like to sell it all together but will sell pieces off it. I will sell the chassis for very cheap to move it.

I also have an extra stripped 3b block and complete 3b head.

Most is wiring. Anyone want to sell me a 3b harness for cheap?

Absolutely. Swapping a harness isn't too bad. Don't give up just yet. Think of it this way: you're going to put way more work and time into it to part it out, not to mention all the time dealing with people. If you're set on selling, fix and then sell. Way way way way easier. Just my .02

Oh, And that sucks ass Rob. I would be devastated.

Looks like groff is selling a good 3B harness for $75. I would had to see this project get parted and scrapped because of this.

nooooo!! I'm so sorry about that! I know you're moving but maybe you could buy a harness and spend a day swapping stuff over. I just hope the electrical damage is contained to the engine. Hope you won't be fighting cabin harness issues but from the looks of the burn area, you look safe.

It's hard to tell, but how how toasted are those plug wires and coils? If they're not bad all you need is a couple vacuum lines and a harness it looks like.

Oh man that stinks.

I'm surprised the silicone items were so badly affected - normally silicone can stand some pretty high temps. I've held silicone-insulated wire in a lighter flame for a few seconds before with little effect. But I guess there's hot and then there's _hot_. :(

You probably also should look closely for any gaskets that might have been affected. The head gasket's well enough protected it's probably okay, but the valve cover gasket might have gotten toasted.
