Which spring combo to use in TiAL MV-R wastegate?

Post by UrSobsessed »

I'm using a 1.9bar in my stock WG but it appears there's not a TiAL combo that goes that high. I assume that's because the TiAL units are much more efficient and need less spring force. I'm looking at boost being somewhere in the mid 20's psi and not sure which combo is appropriate.

What are yous guys using for spring pressure?

hmm...My Tial unit came with about 15 springs (you can layer them 4x)... even running the single softest spring I could find was stiffer than a 1.9bar spring in the AAN wastegate. I forget what the color was, but it resulted in about 20psi spring pressure

I used the lightest one they had saw how much boost it made on my setup. Then for example if you need 5 psi more, you add 5psi to the value of the spring in there, and use that spring or add one to get you there.

Yeah. Mine came with a bunch of different rates also. That's crazy that the softest resulted in ~20psi! Looking at their chart I was thinking starting somewere in the middle but if the lil guy holds that much pressure, I guess I'll start there...

Did you have the lower chamber hooked to boost reference? 20psi on the lightest spring isn't right.
