Seems like its coming together finally.

Does anyone have seat brackets in their b2/type85? If so what type? The only ones I have seen that look legit are the corbeau ones, all others seem to be universals.

Long time no update. Was super busy with work all summer so didn't touch the car for a few months. Got a bit done in the fall/early winter to the point where it is now running.

Ran a ground triggered panel for the vems outputs



Got the water meth reservoir in and hooked up, still needs to be hard mounted though.



This is how she currently sits.






Still to do and not necessarily in this order:

Swap out my lightweight lifters for oem ones
Confirm timing with a timing light
Get axles from Hank
Make seat brackets and install seats
Wire up launch control
Figure out what I'm going to do about the rear diff lock whether I keep it vacuum actuated or go electric. I still haven't found a solenoid I would be comfortable using
Fab up exhaust
Get it tuned

The guy who made the reservoir has a buddy with an oven and does a few things now and then, I don't think he does it as a business though.

It is just a frozen boost one. I'll probably end up getting a custom one made at some point but this will do for now

No it just got a nice cleaning with heavy duty grease and a pressure washer

Yeah they were the only company that had something to fit my application. In the future I would like to build a custom one but I'll see how this one is first.

Since this car will see a lot of street use I would like to keep the noise down for city cruising. I know a few guys on here are using exhaust cutouts and I would like some input. I don't really want to go the electric cutout direction because a lot of people online say that the motors burn out. I would like to keep it vacuum actuated but also have the ability to open or close it without being in boost.

Since I am running an 01E and have no need for the centre diff lock, and have yet to find an electronic solution for the rear diff lock, I was thinking of using the factory diff lock switch for both my rear diff and an exhaust cutout. I have a few questions though.

Since the diff servo is plastic I'm assuming it wouldn't hold up to the heat of the exhaust very well but if it were well insulated it may work. If it doesn't work then how would I control the single port on the exhaust actuator? Just cap the opposite port on the switch? Would it have enough pressure to open the actuator? I believe most actuators are set to 7-8psi but would the switch be able to overcome this pressure at idle? Im not sure how much vacuum they actually pull in factory configuration but I assume the diffs would require some pressure to open 2 diffs at idle on a 20vt. I guess one could always put a weaker spring in the actuator if its too much pressure to overcome. Any thoughts on this are welcome, I was just thinking I could potentially kill two birds with one stone via a simple solution.
