That's what I thought. I'm not sure how that info could be misconstrued as competing with 034 bbk as I had no intention of purchase, from 034 or you. Ya, um...

thanks guys. it is good be at project pad. nice to see some interesting builds.
I figure the cq has some needs yet: possible rear brake upgrade, rad upgrade, fuel system upgrade to get to the limit of the holset and mc bottom end. the plan is to be at 35psi this year.I also plan to make the most of this professional paint job that I am not currently happy with.

this CQ is for sure winding down but I will be starting another pretty soon. an ABZtt in my c4 s4.

Coil overs for me since probably 2004 or 2005 but for the record on suspension:

I run swaybarless up front.

I would not go bigger than the stock dsm 20mm.
getting rid of the sway bar up front is a must imho.
If you keep it, you have to run too big of a rear bar to make up for it or too stiff of springs in the rear to make up for it.

My reason is I do not like the idea of substantially heavier springs on the substantial lighter end of the car. I also do not like the idea of a big sway bar on a car that is street driven on uneven pavement and also not a big fan of big bars on the race track, even though it is usually smoother and even, because on the track one can just run really stiff track springs....so, in summation, I never really see a reason for big sway bars.

ymmv

thanks Ed.
that walbro 400 gas looks like it could be a good option with best flow and quiet operation and the fact that the pressure relief is set higher than most pumps... claim is usable at 100psi.
that is huge for me. my car runs a 4.2 bar regulator plus the up to 35 psi boost is all of 95psi. I want to make sure I to not even tickle that valve or my fuel flow with go down to almost nothing.
any specs on walbro valve pressue????????????

...and 20a of current. wow.

I have a 044 drop in but I hear they are really loud. How loud????

I could just barely get it to spike to 35psi with my MBC so I introduced it to the lathe and all is well. Sill a bit erratic but at least the MBC is not maxed anymore.

I run the Walbro 415lph E85 which actually flows more than 415lph according to Radium's results. It's also as quiet as a stock B6 pump, honestly until you're spending crazy crazy money I don't see anything else coming close.

I ended up just going with a 034 drop in 044 pump. I had it on hand and
I like how it handles crazy fuel pressure without requiring any mystery mods to do so.

mine is pretty quiet too.

Just to go back to this for a minute, a Walbro 400 flows significantly more at any pressure without any "mystery mods"... but suit yourself, if you want pay more than double for less performance that's your deal but you're the one that asked ;)

To be clear:
1 The 044 flows more than all but one (400E85) of those pumps at 6 bar of fuel pressure. It is a chart, not a set number
--- MY CAR SEES 6.4 BAR
2 iirc The bosch pumps are rated to run at a higher pressure while the walbros are almost at their pop off pressure at 6 bar. IF YOU TICKLE THAT, SUPPLY DROPS LIKE A ROCK.
3 I already paid for my 044 back in 2007 and it was sitting on a shelf not being used.
4 my 044 is VERY quiet because I do not run a check valve.
...That is pretty much all I got as far as reasons though :punch: :D
