Keep forgetting. My rs2 rep injectors and 7a 4 bar FPR should suffice right? I run 93 at all times as well.

I don't even know what that third one is. My biggest obstacle right now is a custom downpipe at this point. I'll get right on that though :)

Marc provided a cfg for me to study. I was mainly concerned with the injectors and the timing map as a reference.

Love showing off my nuts

Being held up by the vibrant fittings and a 90° oil feed line elbow for the 034 flange. Pretty much all the F*ingUSPS's fault. Can't stand them. They never fail to disappoint out here in PA. Hope none of you work for them.

Also this welder is holding me up with the band welding of the exhaust housing. He knows he goofed. Told me 1 to 2 days on early Wednesday and now he won't have even done it until next Tuesday it looks like

Had to find proper length studs using a caliper measurement instead of the real items. Then on top of that my attention-wh### mother took out her brand new pistol to blow her brains out right in front of me in the kitchen when I stopped in to use the work bench and clamps to open up the t3 spacer flange bolt holes. She's been doing that for 3 weeks tho. Gotta take it in stride :o

Still it's PROGRESS on the racecar front!

Thanks Chris. I slipped there. This isnt a psychiatry board hahah. I'm fine tho. Been handling this type of stuff for many years.

I am soooo excited tho. I had to take a detour this morning after the kitchen thing and finish putting up the ceiling that the carpenter wouldn't finish. He stormed out before the gun came out :D He's lucky, I think she was gonna shoot him instead before he left!

The manifold going on was just something to take my mind off things. Torquing it on right now actually :) Needed some progress to show for the weekend after the usps upsets

Haha alright man. How's the access to your nuts been? I just bought a snap on special wrench to see if it'll make mine easier to get to on the avant.

I must say it's been much easier on this manifold. Removal of the stock and ebay ones made me thing the studs were a cruel german joke on enthusiasts ;) they're going on well this time tho. Still slow but less shame involved hah

Also kind of cool, I bought the $160 inverter stick welder from harbor freight last week. Was hoping to do the DP parts myself where possible. Not a big fan of driving open turbo about 20 blocks to the welder's shop lol

Ah open turbo isn't that bad. I do it all the time in the avant and used to drive my sedan every day with open side exit downpipe for a few years lol.

That said, I'm considering buying a tig welder for when I do the 6758. I guess that'd be easier than finding a decent welder in Altoona, PA...

Well considering your location... I'm sure you've been stung by the usps disappointment bug ;)

I'd be surprised if you didn't take a machining course in university like I had to. 2 trimesters long at 3 hrs a day, twice a wk. We made pneumatic cars as our term project. And get this, I was the ONLY person that felt like giving the programable plasma cutting rig a shot. Bunch of puss is or something lol. It was totally awesome watching that cutter in action.

Buying the stick welder I got makes converting the same rig to using shield gas as easy as buying a different "gun" and hooking gas to it. Lots of tricks. I'd say good on you if you plan to give it a shot yourself as I do. Just need to break out the welding handbooks from storage!

Yes, I did have a class like that. They didn't teach tig, but I went in after hours to learn it (only once or twice). So I get the idea, but I need practice. Still, it's the same general idea as any other welding, and I do have decent mig experience. I've always wanted one, so I guess this is mostly an excuse to get one lol.

I'm losing confidence in my diy ebay catch can so this is in its way. I may still add some things to it on the inside tho.
http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=201095229482&alt=web

Just got off the phone with Summit as well. They say that normally cancelling an order (on ebay) would require a phone call instead of an ebay message. They were kind enough to waive my return shipping tho :)
It's probably tax deductible for them lol. One thing I see concerning these and vibrant's fittings are the summit ones might be longer? Could just be the woman holding them has small hands ;)

Some bitching scored me a free elbow via priority mail. Still getting boned by the welder tho. This OD is about 3.1" by taking C/Pi. Measure 9.75" around right above the weld so I'm going to take a shot at welding a 3" pipe to this for the DP. 3" v banded DP to stock dual 2.5" should be fiine.. Besides I love my exhaust from that point back lol. No more bottle-necked upper DP :wtf:

My "plan" is to crimp the 3" pipe around that area at the welds or butt weld it I guess.

It's so f###ING boring not having a massive turbo around. :(
Everything/one is holding me up! I ordered a die grinding bit to do the inside work on the old DP and widen the t3 spacer flange. Got thishttp://www.tooldiscounter.com/ItemDisplay.cfm?lookup=CHISA1&source=froogle&kw=CHISA1&gclid=Cj0KEQiA6vS2BRDH8dq06YDHz_IBEiQAzNdBmWwClsmXOsV2nAZy5MV2xMJQ74olnin_xm6aWQ_IrOkaAi7A8P8HAQ

I think it will do the job on mild steel and whatever else if I lubricate it during use.

Welder didn't want to be optimistic and say last night so he said tonight and the night is growing older by the minute with still no call

WEEEEE! After going to the hospital by ambulance (for myself), looks like my tax refund may have gone to the hospital bill instead of my DP. After doing some welding myself on the stock downpipe insides in order to smooth it out for when I do the final weld. Went to Arby's at 10 pm, and it still makes me shudder that I ate the loaded fries. They look AWEFUL! Anyway I woke up puking violently at 4 am, plus another activity I don't car for, and had to be hospitalized for a GI tract flu bug.

And THEN the welder calls to say the housing is done lol
