Josh's 2.5 200QT.
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
Work has been keeping me busy but I finally got my bumper brackets welded up. I'm doing last minute fitmet items before I take it to the paint shop. I'm really loving how much more surface area is available to pull in air. If everything works out right, I should have enough air for the radiator, intercooler, auxiliary radiator, engine oil cooler, transmission oil cooler, brake ducts, and last but definitely not least...air to the EFR 8374 (maybe soon going to EFR 9180
). That is a lot of cooling/air supplyrequirements! This bumper should be able to handle it. You can see where I drew a proposed "cut out" in sharpie on the bumper where I am going to be opening it up in front of the intercooler for more air flow. I am going to cut one one each side of centerline so that the openings will match the contour and height of the fog light openings. Should look pretty clean and not too overbearing. The last major thing I need to do is the chin splitter but that can be done after paint.

Me too!
But when I had the 20 valve fenders and sitting this low there wasn't much choice. Now with an actual rounded fender opening and one that is flared, I have room for much wider wheels and different brands/sizes. I even extended the brackets that tie the frame rail to the fender. It's subtle, but it is 1" wider now on each side. Once I do the V8 rear fenders, I am definitely getting something that looks good. These were a cheap set to get the car built.Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
I remember you saying that. Thank goodness

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
I'm just going to paint the bumper and fenders black to match the rest of the car. When I do the V8 rear quarters and bumper, that will be when a do a paint theme... Maybe like DTM and have some silver and maroon.
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
Looks good Josh. How did the spacer work out?
Love the V8 front end, though I agree, it needs some 18x9" wheels now

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
Do you still have any 20v parts? Like the heads? Or Micheline man hoses?
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
I do. I have 3 20v heads and a hose that is not torn.

I'm just waiting to get the spacers back from the machine shop.

Are any of them MC2? What would you want for the best looking one and the hose shipped to 14467?
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
Been busy with work but I got the V8 bumper almost ready for paint again for the second time. I have shaved the body lines/grooves out, cut out openings for direct airflow to the intercooler and aux radiator, removed the lower air louvers, and added a protective mesh to protect the intercooler. Now I just need to add a lower chin split and either screen in the lower opening or add one horizontal louver. Then... Back to paint.
Cutting the two openings in the center lightened the bumper quite a bit. It is really close to the weight of the 20v number now.

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
I got the 20v fenders on and the shaved V8 bumper on and now I am trying to see what would look better... Chrome bumper trim or black. I managed to get my 20 valve runing light to fit the euro headlights and converted them to L.E.D. I also added a L.E.D. Runing light inside too. (Tight fit)

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
That's a really tough choice. I would have to see the rest of the car to really make that determination.
That black paint looks fantastic though! I think the black trim will always modernize it a bit. My 635csi has some black where there would normally be chrome and I think it looks really good.

Really depends on the "global look" of your car.
With your chromy-looking headlights I'd say chrome, but black trim would look awesome aswell.
According to the pics you posted, I'd say black though.

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
Black trim but the rest of the brightwork needs to go black to match.
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
Im getting closer. I ordered some of the clips that hold the stainless trim. I also got some black paint that will peel off just invade I don't like it black. I ordered some heat extractors for my hood. I think it's going to look good but most of all be functional and let some heat out from under the hood.

The paint is super nice. It's so clean. With proper wheels it's going to be epic.

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
Thanks, I'm getting down to the last part of the mechanicals to confidently beat it up as a daily. My concern right now is getting stuck in stop/go traffic with 100 degree days. I ordered two large heat extractors for the hood, I'm working on a double fan shroud, working on the shroud in front of the radiator and working on a large volume air box because of how close the turbo and the back of the European headlight is. Pictures just don't do justice on how wide and low this car looks. The body sits 4" off of the ground now. It handles like it is magnetized to the ground with the coilovers. Soon I'll get it back to a tuner around here to check and make sure no adjustments need to be made. It's wicked fast so I can't imagine it needs much, I just would rather be safe than sorry.- Attachments

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT.
Here's the latest problem I have been working around. Since the euro headlight is 2" or less from touching the turbo inlet, I had to come up with a way to provide filtered air without restricting volume, velocity, etc. Basically, I didn't want to loose power by adding on a restrictive 90 degree bend for a inlet duct. So I built a high volume box and increased the boot size for the turbo to 4 1/2". It is able to scavenge air 360 degrees around so I hope it proves to be ok once it's back on the dyno. It's a little rough but I think it won't look too bad once it's coated from Polydyn. All I care is that it allows for cool, unrestricted, filtered air.

And the good part is the box can be installed and removed without removing the turbo. It just barely slips in.
