Re: FS: 20vt Avant
Maintenance/Modifications:
Engine/Tranny:
230k miles and counting (daily driver)
Conitech timing belt, Graf water pump, and idler done within the past 10-15k miles
Intended Acceleration 280hp chip (installed by second owner)
Apikol all aluminum thick core intercooler
034/Samco full silicone hose set, along with silicone vac lines
Valve cover gasket and wrinkle black VC
034 poly front snubber and bracket
Fresh Bosch plugs, cap, and rotor (the correct narrow tip one)
EFI Express stainless injector cups (intake manifold removed to accomplish)
Fresh intake manifold and throttle body gaskets
Fresh Mr. Injector cleaned and serviced stock injectors
Goodrich -AN line and fittings from FPR to fuel rail
Vacuum Brake Conversion using a Audi 90 booster
Valvoline VR-1 20-50w (high zinc content) and German filter every 3k...doesn't burn oil
Stock, quiet exhaust
German Transaxle rebuilt tranny (before my ownership)
Clutch is fine, but slave cylinder could be bled (sometimes slow to return)
Exterior:
Mostly stock with relayed Euro headlights
Shorter Antennae
No rust anywhere!
The original owner had the rear passenger corner repaired at some point. I don't know the details, but I do have paperwork from the body shop in Oregon. Nothing suggests that it was a major hit. A slight mismatch in paint is evident but overall it looks decent.
The front bumper got resprayed possibly at the same time but is suffering from rock chips as a result of being a daily driver in Bend, Oregon for most it's life. The hood has also been peppered but is in ok shape for a car made in '91. The car has been in Oregon and Montana it's entire life.
Suspension: (All done within the past 6000 miles)
Coilovers/Camber plates (300in*lb springs up front/350 rear)
Bilstein Sports all around
Front wheel bearings
Front outer tie rod ends
Front lower control arms/ball joints
Brakes:
G60 strut converison using correct UrS4 housings (no more UFO's!)
Freshly turned stock rotors
Hawk HPS front pads
Unknown rear
Stainless lines f/r
Recently lubed guide pins with silicone grease
Rennsport Stud conversion with correct small ball seat nuts
42 draft design 20mm hubcentric front spacers
Tires/Wheels:
Audi 17x7.5 A4 5 spoke on 235/45-17 (tires are done and wheels need refinished)
Audi 16" winter wheels, painted black, with studless Blizzaks...about 80%
Interior:
Podi boost gauge in center vent
Rewrapped and thickened steering wheel and shift boot in black Napa leather with interior colored stitching (Redline Upholstery out of Poland)
Delrin shift knob, original wood needs refinished
Auto-dimming rear view mirror
Kenwood CD player with USB input (matches well, red display) Stock speakers as far as I know.
Very clean and crack free original wood trim
But...
Headliner is sagging (typical)
Front seats are torn at the seams (also common, bolstered Sport seats bolt right in)
Seat heater on the drivers side doesn't work, passenger does last time I checked
The gauge cluster could be reflowed as the MFA is intermittent with temperature and the backlighting is parially dead, however all gauges function properly
HVAC is all there but the AC doesn't work. I haven't looked into it because I don't use AC anyways! The heater works fine but there is a chirp from the secondary fan right below the dash cap. Not a big deal to replace if deemed necessary.
Overall, the car is rock solid mechanically and has never given me any issues. It's has been adult/enthusiast owned it's entire life and has always had OEM/German/quality aftermarket parts installed. Power delivery is smooth and very linear in all gears. It's a true Autobahn cruiser that pulls and pulls. Never thought I would sell it, but other projects are taking priority. Will only sell to a good home. No test drives without cash in hand. Clean title.
Fly in, drive it home. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this to either coast tomorrow.
Thanks,
Richie
