Chris, yes those are awesome welds! Maybe I have little faith that someone can actually do work like that, charge what we are willing to pay, and deliver parts in a timely manner. It always seems to start off like this, then reality hits. So then we settle for good enough.

Cheers.

Fair enough, Jim. We shouldn't settle though and let people get away with dubious business practices. If the weld quality was the only thing in question and it was addressed honestly that would be one thing, but throw some dishonesty in there and that's when it gets sour.

OG poster here. Havent checked in here in a while...Wow, im fucked!! This guy (Tim Sias) still has me on the end of a rope with my parts. Told me a couple days ago that he would send me photos (couple days ago), never got them. I have threatened him with a lawsuit as my brother is an attorney, not sure what good that will do though? I am definitely calling PayPal tomorrow to file a complaint. I sent this F hole my brand new Garrett turbo!!! He actually gave me an excuse that his depression medication was affecting his sleep pattern. Look I like to see anyone down on their luck, and I would be the first person to help someone like him, but you dont make promises you cant keep, and then keep coming up with new excuses. I got an address for him from a source I have to keep private, but since someone mentioned he changed shops, Im not even sure if its the correct address. This is where I will be sending the demand letter to. Does anyone here know of anybody reputable that can make a solid header and downpipe?

Just read all of that Facebook thread. Thanks for posting. All i got out of that is Tim is irresponsible and should not be running a business. I'm sure many people here think he is a good guy, but he is not a good business man. I have a good friend that is a certified Audi tech that also does work on the side. I know he has taken years to finish 2.7T swap projects when hes quoted 4 months tops. Point of that comment is, yeah hes a good guy and a friend of mine, but I know that he lags and cant keep his word. Ill drink a beer with him but wont be giving him any serious engine work anytime soon. Hell thats why hes not doing my 4k 20vt swap. I could save money with him , but im 44 years old, I want to enjoy my car while my left leg can still handle the clutch! Can anyone here tell me what my chances of getting my turbo back are? thats really all I care about at this point. Turbo was around $1,900 (If i remember correctly).

I think you will get your turbo back. Might take some work, but I don't think Tim is a straight up thief.

Lol coincidence? I'm sure that's not the case. But that's good to see. Much more proper welding there.

So I got a shipping notice of a "Label Created" yesterday from FedEx but still has not moved. Hasnt been shipped. We will see how trustworthy Tim Sias really is. DE80Q if you could please make sure Tim mails me my parts i would greatly appreciate the help. I told him to stop building my header & DP and just send me back my turbo and waste gate parts. I will deal with getting back my $950.00 deposit through Paypal. On that thought does anyone know of a TRUSTWORTHY individual with mad welding skills that can get shit done !!!. Local or west coast would be better!!.

Maybe ask Kavon Khashe if he is able to do one for you depending how close you are to him. He doesn't post here, but he's on Facebook. I have no idea if he's doing them on a regular basis or not though.
