so how much better than 6krpm now? Good job. Too bad about the AWIC core though, that's a pretty big bummer. Are there better/denser cores readily available? I know nothing about AWIC. Can't you just shoot liquid nitrogen or fuckin NOS at it or something like Hap?
Full boost by 4,500rpms which is MUCH better. Funny part is that because of the AWIC I have to limit my boost to 400whp (about 30psi). So if you see the curve it looks more like torque. Spools up and stays at 400 through the RPM range, almost flat. :guns:

I remember reading somewhere how great they were but it was on the internet so it could have been fake news.

Any BBQ pics, updates?

Car looks SOOOOO good with the new paint...and the Fat 5's have grown on me a lot, I did them on the car especially with the color choice.

Thank you Alex! Those are some awesome shots! I must say, I was worried about the Fat 5s, but I think in that color they do work. :D

Nice. I seem to like chunky gunmetal wheels on boxy cars. Looks great!

Just a little update... I ordered a set of Cat Cams for the car. Should be here within the next two weeks, so that's pretty exciting.

Image

Also, I've continued to have IAT problems with the car when really putting the boost to it so I am going to be changing out my cheap AWIC box for a Precision PT1000 unit in hopes of better results. With the current unit we are receiving almost no heat exchange benefit due to the cheap core. At full tilt, I will see up to 90c IATs which is definitely no bueno. Due to this, we've had to keep the car at around 400whp (IROZ Land & Sea Dyno). That being said, I'm thinking mid January or first week of February should be able to jump back on the dyno and really crank the boost. :guns:

Car locks stellar. Are you planning on just switching cams to see performance difference, or are you changing cams and intercooler at the same time ?

Well, I am not sure yet if I will take care of the AWIC first yet or not so I can test the power difference. Depends on how motivated I am on seeing the performance gains isolated from each-other. That being said, received an update yesterday and my cams are still in the production process. Hopefully see them in three weeks. :D

Yeah, get that think running right before you start tossing more power parts at it.

The cams will be cool though.

I found a company that does pretty nice work for AWIC using Bell cores, so maybe by Feb I have my AWIC system sorted.

Then cams.

I'm ok without using a Precision core. This is the company that makes the one I'm looking at.

So the long of the short of it is... I blew her up. I was racing a C63 AMG Black series that has a "stage 1" tune and I ended up nuking the engine in Oceanic. It was one hell of a race too. OOPS. :boom: I pulled the valve cover off and as you can see it's a specialty mix of oil and bearing material...

Image

I am going to count my blessings though because I hadn't had time to install my cams. I've also been still waiting on my new intercooler to arrive (will be here in a matter of days). That being said, there are big plans in the work now. I'm going to make the 2.5 liter short deck stroker build jump, which I am REALLY looking forward to. Here is the parts that have made the short list thus far, if anyone has any suggestions I am all ears!

Last picture before going into the garage for tear down ...

Sorry to hear! But sometimes it's for the best... growing pains and all.

Why make a separate order for the TB kit from AutohausAZ? Since you're doing a big order from 034, might as well just include the TB kit and save on shipping costs. Also, what's the down time difference between FRP and IMS for the head work? I'd factor that in, as well.
