How much does it weigh? I know that a 90 dash is pretty damn heavy

I only had two layers of glass mat on it so far, and it's I'd have to say almost half the weight of a stock dash.

How the ef did you pop that off of the stock dash (which I assume you used as a plug)?

wrapped the entire dash in green painters tape first. then i took some thin fabric and stretched it over the dash and stapled it all over as best i could. resin, glass mat, resin. popped off, very carefully, lol.

OK, I was thinking there would be some hooks in the thing (draft) making it hard to pop. I guess not though. Hopefully you can get a smooth surface off of that with enough sanding and such. I guess it doesn't matter if you are going to cover it. Otherwise, you'd probably have to make a mold from what you have now and lay up inside that.

thats honestly the only reason i even attpempted it, knowing damn well that i was going to be flocking it in the end anyway and the surface didnt need to come out butter ass smooth in order to look good.

I will def chop the bottom of my dash by the steering wheel like that so that you don't need to take the steering wheel off to fanagle the dash outta the car.

chopped the dash a bit, got it to fit. it was a bit wider then i thought it would have ended up being...but it was a mold that came off the outside of a stock dash obviously. any who, it fits, and its getting sanded. then ill have to get to work with the gauges and wiring.

i hate to say it but the center section the two gauges arent symmetrical. that lil thing right there would bug the SHIT out of me, and i am only in mine about 2 hrs a year!

but looks good otherwise. get a few coats of HEAVY primer on it.... before flocking it.

only thing i wish now looking at the pics is i started the gauges a bit higher up, but oh well. i can put any toggles i need up there now instead of in between the gauges.

could alwasy cut out a larger hole and mount a plate with the gauges and switches over it so you can get to the wiring and whatever else you have back there in the future..

Once I'm done with this there actually won't be any wiring that I need to get to back there anymore. And since I made the dash in fiberglass, I wanted to try and keep it all on one piece.

First attempt at painting anything ever. Got some runs in a few tight spots, so I guess some wetsand tomorrow and scuffing then I'll use a jam gun and touch it up. I'm excited to get it back together to be honest, once I saw all the colors together I got pumped.

That Engine bay looks sweet! I like the crazy color scheme you've got going. Are you doing the powder coating yourself?
