If you find one more local before then, go for it. I have the feeling shipping will be the major factor here, considering the distance.

Sounds like the right move.. I'll keep my eye out...

That little gnome will be living under that hood daily until it's done... With night time arriving earlier I only have mornings to get stuff done... More pics in morning...

Today's progress pics...

Here we have the short block attached to the tranny and bolted up to the mounts ects...
Notice the various added fuel monitoring senors being added...

Carefully bend the return line and tuck it behind the firewall wire connection box

For the Regulator output...

Wiring for sensors shall commence tomorrow...
I must find +5v(Fuel Pressure Sensor) and +12v(Ethanol Content Sensor) under the hood to tap into along with figuring out which pin is what on the stock oil pressure sender(2pin).

VEMS = Log All Things!

Nice work, I like the stealthy install.

Thanks, I'm tying to keep it as clean as possible...

Now I've got +12v available right there next to the ethanol sensor. The coils use a switched +12v... Is it advisable to tap into that?

And there's +5v there's that's uses to power g40 cam sensor as well. Should I tap into that as well for the fuel pressure sensor?

Using these sources of power would further help keep things clean looking under the hood...

What other places under the hood could I find another 5v and 12v switched power source I could safely tap into

I would have no problem tapping into either of those. The coil circuit is pretty robust and the E85 sensor probably draws almost nothing. The +5v on the hall sensor is generated by VEMS for sensors like that and should be able to handle the light load of fuel pressure sensor too.

For 12V I think it's that or the injectors or wideband, which I'd take the coils over. Anything else at all that is +5v is powered from that same circuit in VEMS.

yes you can use the coil 12v power for your ethanol sensor and yes you can use the 5v from the cam sensor for the fuel pressure sender.

Cool... I was worried about the cam sensor voltage perhaps dropping a bit and causing unneeded trigger errors...
Thanks guys, I'll be tapping in after the harness plugs for these 2 items...

Now as far as the stock oil pressure guage sending unit, does polarity matter?... I painted over mine and can no longer see which prong corresponds with what at the terminals...

Do they make a "crush washer" that's thicker than the norm?

I'm trying to offset this -8an banjo for a snug fit under the cover...

I can also shave some off the mountin

I can also go underneath...

I can also shave some off the mounting tabs for a little clearance but a thicker crush washer I would really help I think...
