Nice vids :) Sorry it didn't end well with the popo, but such is life. I've got a few vids to post. Should have some time soon!

Last year we really didn't get to talk at all, glad we got some quality time in this year. I had a blast!

Yeah 20*-22* is what my e85 map is pushing ATM... this probably explains the exaggerated glowing hot header/hotside and flames spittin between shifts... EGT's thru the roof too... Simple fix is to just get this on the Dyno...

On another note 4 FOX SNAKES definitely MOVES!... Brisk little thing there... Kudos on a safe trip back and forth...

Edit: 95°F-113°F MAT is about 15°-20° above ambient... I wish I could get it closer to ambient

Dude. On a 3rd gear pull, if ambient was 15* C, my temps STARTED at 28* C and hit 65* C by the end. In F, that's ambient at 59*, my starting intake temp at 82*, and final at 149* F!!!! That's 90* ABOVE AMBIENT!!!!!!!! Then if I shift to 4th you don't even wanna know!

Yeah for sure Chris! If you move "up north" I hope to see you at SFest (if it happens yadda yadda).

It's more of a when than an if! Yeah, hopefully I'll be able to make it to at least one show next/this year. Only time will tell.

There was one really great dropping and then rising, sweeping right hander which I took in second and laid on the throttle. The car just stuck and rocketed out, it was perfect. I got a very solemn, "holy crap..." after that :) Unfortunately I forget his name but he should be a new member on here soon. Chris do you remember his name?

Haha, I am honored to be considered a highlight! Getting a ride from you was an experience!! Hopefully one day I'll be able to return the favor in the big silver land barge.

So there have been some things I've been lusting over since Carlisle...

Nardi 3 spoke wood steering wheel

Recaro Speed seats

RS2 tranny mounts and the driveshaft spacer for an 01E swap

I think these last three items are gonna take quite some time to sort and put into the car. If the trans goes, that'll be first. If I can somehow score the wheel for a birthday or some other gift that will be next. I'd really like the seats, but maybe if I remove my whole Quattro Script interior and sell it I can but a seat... one seat. lol.

Edit: oh, and launch control. Gotta do launch control. Thankfully that's free, essentially

I wired it up the same as Nick's budget method. Turn lc on in VEMS, run wire from connector to ground to activate. In the case of the 4k, my loose wire grounds on my cigarette lighter. It even hides in my ash tray when I'm not using it! So the process is remove wire from ash tray, ground to outer rim of cigarette lighter, launch, remove/throw/drop/whatever wire and shift. Easy peasy.

Sweet! I attempted the first launches tonight! Everything went smoothly, except for a little low oil. But after topping up I had a few chances to critically assess the launch.

I just did a tiny bit of slip before dropping the clutch. Seems to work well with little to no drama. The only thing is, with the settings almost identical to these, it builds no boost:

Image

I'm just not sure if the RPM is high enough. It sounds good, bangs, and spits fire sometimes, but only when I get a really loud POP do I see the boost gauge climb above 0. Any insight? Does it need more fuel? Seems like lots of spark retard so that should be fine. It just bogs a little before really getting up and going. With boost I think it'd go pretty dang quick. It's much like Ben's video that he posted in his thread.

Help = vids :drive: :drive:

Yes please. Email me a log or config or just upload it here for everyone else to see! You are able to actually build boost with the settings you have? I need to hit up Ob for a config too as I'm positive he's got it setup nicely.

Got it. It liked 5krpm A LOT more than 4k. And it doesn't bog down anymore. But holy crap, I have to ride out 1st more, which is something I'm not used to. I did better in the third (interior) clip.

Watch it in HD, fullscreen, etc. :)
