Dan McBoost…thank you. I appreciate that! If you’re ever in Denver you have a seat at the table.

So bear in mind the car is not on level ground so I did my best. Test fitted the diagonal and horizontal/driver’s restraint tubes a couple of days ago and got them welded up today. Hopefully no spine compression will happen. I have a few more things to fine tune on the driver’s restraint system: the right lap and submarine belt attachment points. Thanks for looking.

Cold weather is on its way so I’ve been trying to get some paint on the roll cage. Using “Steel-it” paint in a spray can. They say paint makes everything look better, not so much in my case. The paint goes on nice and looks good. It can also amplify imperfections. I used tinfoil and plastic drop cloth to get behind tight areas to help keep the over spray down. The plastic drop cloth works good as long as you don’t use it on anything overhead, the paint will weigh it down causing it to stick to what was just painted. When I paint the interior of the car I’ll wrap the roll cage with tinfoil to keep over spray down. Thanks for looking.

Purchased a 15 gallon fuel cell. Trying to mount it as low as possible. The GCR states “It is recommended that fuel cells not be installed any closer to the ground than six (6) inches, unless enclosed with the bodywork”. In order to achieve this I’ll have to cut out a section of the trunk floor, get a different exhaust, fabricate a structure to mount the fuel cell in and relocate the battery tray. Thanks for looking.

Got the hole cut in the trunk. We can go low or super cool race car fabricator guy low. I’ll stick with low, little more involved with the other route. Thanks for looking!

F it!! I give up! I keep getting “the image you tried to attach is invalid” I have to edit some of my pics 15 different ways so the site will except them and then I forget which way works. I’m done. ✌️

Fuel cell structure is kinda rough but we’re moving forward with it. I closed off all the holes, cut some plates for the structure to mount to the car. I’ll also make the top portion similar to the bottom so the fuel cell is encapsulated in the structure. I don’t think the safety guy likes to see the fuel cell housing flange/lid used to secure the cell in place. Still more to do on the structure, drill some clearance holes on the structure for all the bolts on the fuel cell so it sits flush, finish welding it, paint and then final install. Thanks for looking!

It’s running again. Thought I was going to have some electrical issues with moving the fuse/relay panel around. I had to disconnect/reconnect the panel to get it back in its place. Only issue I had was a harness was not plugged in all the way and a fuel leak at the fuel filter so I shut it down. Went out the next day, checked if there were any loose connections, there were none, started it up and no major leaks. I did notice some wetness at the seem or rolled lip of the fuel filter after running the engine for 30 min or a few cycles of the cooling fan coming on and off. Again I can not upload pics or vids from my phone to this site. You can check out pics and vids on IG @get_the_dad_out

Solid state kill switch from Racewire Solutions and I got the bulkhead wall installed. I used 1/4” aluminum sheet, a little thick but it’s solid.

my plan is to do a phpbb update (much overdue) which with any luck will fix the broken phone pic posting tools.
