Knocked out one of the front fenders. 2 more to go. Fronts are much easier to cut.

I should make a separate thread for others who want to do this urS fender flare project. There are a number of obstacles to overcome and some planning and things to do beforehand in order for everything to come together. Jim Green has been my best text friend lately and I appreciate all his responses and patience as I have picked his brain.

All 4 fenders are screwed on to where they will be welded and its time to line up a trailer and tow the car to my body shop guy. I have to admit, although the guy is pretty good, and cheap, I wish I had body work experience and had the time to do this myself. I'll probably be at his shop daily.

The rear fenders are tough. There just isn't much room to work with transitioning from the door down to the bottom of the arch. I'm pleased with the driver's side, but the passenger side fender I used for the rear was slightly damaged and not cooperating. I have another on the way. I'm impressed Jim Green was able to do this part himself. Not an easy bit of body work. I'm anxious to get the car to my guy to get this done.

ooohhh that just looks soooo right.

Damn the b3 and its horrid factory flares. Love the wheel style and the flares...and the black.

This is pretty cool, and the makings of what is the coolest old Audi you can make in my opinion.

You have all the experience you need to dive into bodywork. The rest will be accumulated before it's done. What you may not have is the space, the time, or the patience to put up with the mess and bullshit required to get through it :).

Body work is rarely rocket science. It is always laborious. IMHE. Keep up the good work! It IS worth it-looks killer, and more importantly, is hugely functional. The B3 sedan is so limited in the rear for tire.

The expectation is to paint the car this Saturday!

Image

While the intent is to mimic the Vomit Comet's fenders, I'm doing some things a little different. I won't be shaving the doors.

I would have liked either an RS2 rear bumper or worked with an S2 coupe rear bumper, it's nice to use the original 80 bumper to keep some of the originality.

It won't be black after the weekend!

The RS2 purists call it RS Blue. It goes by Nogaro in the U.S.

I was hoping the doors would all be back on today, but he didn't get to them. I'll stop by on Friday and get fully assemble pics.

I can't stress enough how much you need these on the front. You will destroy the rear fenders, and door lowers.

Or you can clear bra all of that. But I would at least pick up a can of this and give it a liberal coat for the drive home at least.

I have it applied on the rears still.

Most of my damage came from dropping wheels in the corners on the track, but I got some chips just on the street as well.
