This speaks volumes of your character. That's the same thing I would do. I can't sell something if I know it isn't just right, or the buyer has accepted whatever is wrong.

Since no one is posting anything from BBQ....
coolant gauge, oil temp digital gauge, oil pressure gauge, boost gauge, heater blower fan, catch can, rad mount, backup lights, driver's side rear window switch, and VEMS wiring have all been addressed. Friggin thing is perfect now! The only things that don't work don't exist in the car - power steering, AC, and cruise control. I cut a bunch of wires out of the ECU loom that were just there to connect to the chassis harness in the URS car taht it came from. It's much cleaner now. Just the ECU to mount in the glove box as far as wiring/silly stuff goes.
Fuel rail and intake pipe needed to be repainted because plastidip is NOT chemical (fuel) resistant, lol. Just have to button up a few things and change the oil, and then we'll be off to St. Louis on Friday after work. I'm definitely going to be sad to see it go, but the new owner will be doing UR box flares for 9-10" wheels as well as the big brake kit on UrS struts as I had planned to... I get first dibs if he decides to sell

Yup, she gone!!! Tentatively.
I believe he has a track day Nov. 8th and would like to have the BBK and 5 lug swap completed by then. Definitely jumping in head first! lol.
Reinstalled the intake pipe, fuel rail, and catch can after dinner. All that's left now is some tidying/mounting of wiring and VEMS and an oil change. Wow. I'm definitely going to have to pump the tunes on the drive down there!!

Pump the tunes as in music. lol
He's on 91 or e85. e85 will need bigger injectors and a retune obviously. But I'll turn down the boost to about 23psi (where it made 360whp) and take some timing out for him so it lasts forever. The last thing I want is for him to run it and blow it up in a week. I'll be bringing my laptop so I can keep my higher boost for the drive down and then set it up for him in STL.

LOL - I think we could find 10 examples of this on TPP alone.

Thanks Casey. I hope that I get rich and he doesn't want it anymore very soon, lol
The ecu is now mounted in the glove box along with all the major fuses for coils, injectors, ecu, etc. Super easy access. I should have done (all of this) a long time ago. The ecu loom is like half the size it was. Pix coming.

I have the same self-destructive habit of fixing up my cars better than they ever have been during my ownership and selling them. Makes me regret every sale. Gotta stop that and start fixing up my cars when I'm NOT thinking about selling them.

I feel like to an extent I do this as well. I think that 90% of why I am a car guy is doing the work to them and watching something beautiful evolve. Don't get me wrong, I love to drive them, but I feel if I fixed it up perfectly the rush would stop. My 2cents.

i am notorious for driving things with a bunch of problems then fixing them all before i sell it. I think its mostly because i want more money when I sell.

It always backfires and makes me want to keep said car. I just got all 4 doors working on my mk2 for the first time since I owned it, just in time to send it on its way. Dumb.
Congrats on the sale Matt, I really liked that car. New owner will enjoy it im sure.

Oh my LORD the tall 5th gear makes a world of difference! Why didn't I know about this years ago! I highly recommend it to anyone with an 016
And for those wondering, I used:
- not an exhaust to remove the rear case (a simple lever setup pulled it right off, lol)
- snap ring pliers!!! to remove the snap rings!!!

dodge exhaust is more fun.
I take it you received the gear and installed it lol. How was it?
I also like how you sold the car and are still modifying it.

Lol yeah, mod till not in possession!! Is so much better. Highway love.
I had to stop today in fort Wayne, stupid wheel vibration driving me nuts. There were like 20 guys working at discount tire and they all jizzed in their pants over the 4k. Hilarious. I launched it for them. Good times. Unfortunately they didn't have the hubcentric ring I needed, but they shaved one down and that seems to have done the trick. I had my doubts. One guy has a 90 that he autocrossed, but is currently broken, lol. They were a good bunch of guys.
The car will be in my possession for a little over 12 more hours. So far it has been flawless on the trip other than shaking every 10 seconds. After ft.w it's been smooth as butter though!
