My alt died last year and Pep-boys was the only place that had anything in stock so I had to take what I could get. Now I'm regretting it and just need to buy a bigger one.... FML!

Picked up the 044 today and started removing the old pump. I got the top part off and peer into the tank and already I'm skeptical. It looks nothing even close to the size of an 044. I continue on and get the pump/basket out and quickly realize/confirm where my lack of fuel issue is coming from. The pump in my car is not stock, not an 040 or even a Bosch. It's a VDO and looks similar to the stock pump in my S4 when I removed that. I pulled the pump out of the basket and saw a date of 2001 on it!! Either way at least I found the issue. I'm going to need to order the motorsport basket from somewhere now :(

Haha, how much do you want? Do you have the 044 fitting kit by chance too?

I dunno, like $20 or something? Its hard to put a price on something like that. Normally I'd just give it to you fo free but as it is right now I'm scraping away at my last supplies of Chow Mein with no money to buy more soooo I gotta hustle a little bit.

I don't have anything to hook up the 044, but what is it...a couple of simple fittings that you could pick up at a hardware store or race part solutions?

$20 sounds fair to me but I just want to make sure it does fit the 044. Maybe a pic or something. I'll look around for fittings today.

First one is a V8 pump (the one I have in my car now)
Second one is a 200 20v pump (just like the one I took out of my car for diagnosing some stuff, but it turned out to be good still). This is the basket you'd be getting.
Third one is 034's 044 drop in thing. Looks like the same basket.

Ok, looks good to me man! Let me know how you'd like the payment and I'll send it right over. If you'd happen to have any of those spare fittings I could use them too. If not, no biggie. I can prob come up with some.

the banjo on top? I would, but I'm not sure if they are the same thread. I'd check for you, but the pump and basket are at home so I'd be asking my mom to check threads...not a good idea lol. Paypal = my username @yahoo.com

Yeah, the banjo and UFO looking deal on top. It's looks as though it's a very coarse M10 (1.5+ maybe). It's not a big deal though. I can come up with something for that. Payment on it's way!

Just got the money, thanks Nick. I just talked to my mom and when she gets home she's going to take the pump out of the basket and get it boxed up

For giggles here's a pic of the pump in my car vs the 044 :-o

Picked up a "new" rebuilt alternator today. There's a local shop that rebuilds them in house and had all the parts in stock and ready to go. They custom built it for 140amps. Hopefully that will take care of the charging/low voltage issue.

New alternator has been installed and all is perfect! Doesn't drop below 14.1v with everything I could turn on, on. W00t! Runs a bit more rich now too. Fuel pumps like more volts!
Side note, sounds like I have a boost leak. Not sure if I blew the stock IC apart or not but I really need my core to come in! I'll run a boost leak test and figure it out.

Yeah Its easy set your air compressors reg. to like 20 psi and pressurize the intake track. then be really quiet and you can hear the small ones. Post up details on your pressure tester, there have been some interesting setups before.

I have one already made from a wheel shrader valve placed in the end of a PVC endcap and a home depot rubber reducing coupler. I'll have to grab a new coupler because the new turbo has a 4" inlet.

I came up with a new idea for my intercooler today. Anyone ever check out Bell cores? They'll make you any kind of custom intercooler you can come up with. I'm sticking with using basically factory IC routing and plumbing with silicone couplers of course. I am going with a 4.5" X 7.7" X 18" core and they even assemble the endtanks in several different routes/size inlets/outlets, weld it all together and pressure test everything.
Check it out:
4.5" cores (mine is A450077180):

I forgot to mention in out PM that if you aren't set on that company, check out Treadstone. The cores have very good fin density, good end tank design, and are quality overall BUT much cheaper than Bell. I think Bell is damned good, but just throwin out other options. Also consider a vertical core because you'll get better cooling with the space constraints of the 200. Check out my setup. This is basically how I did it, not exactly though. I'm sure you get the idea.

also, if you need good, cheap piping look no further than CX racing. Yes, they are mostly cheap ebay shit, but their piping is pretty damned good. All of the piping you see in that pic and all of the aluminum piping I've ever used is from them and it welds nicely, is nice and thick, etc.

Big 2nd on both accounts - Treadstone & CXRacing. Nothing more to add to what loxx said.

Sorry I haven't updated in a few, been crazy at work.
So I got the 044 installed (thank you again for the pump basket chris) and it solved my fueling problem! Just as expected, the VDO A4 pump just didn't cut it. The 040 basket had to be slightly modified to get the pump past the little "vent" type thing that comes up at the top of the pump. Just dremeled it down and pump slid right in. Pic of the complete setup:

Also, yesterday I got around to replacing my warped front S4 rotors. I bought these rotors and pads brand new from ECS tuning and they were warped right out of the box! I used them for close to a year on it until I did the 993TT BBK on it and just dealt with the wobbling (SUCKS!). As you guys know, the 200 received the brakes from my S4 and of course they were still warped, lol. I've been just dealing with them since the week I got the 200 so it was time for change. I don't want to sound cheap here but S4 brakes are bank! So I picked up a set of mint second hand OEM (Audi) rotors and had them turned to be safe. Good thing I had them turned because there was slight warpage and also picked up a set of ATE pads at german auto parts (love having them local

).
So much better!!! Thing stops ridiculous and no more wobbling! W00T!
Now, for my next mission. Catch can! I never had a problem with blowby on the car until now. Of course stock turbo and 12psi prob didn't create enough crankcase pressure to have the problem show its face. I have the hocky puck just pointed in the stock location without anything on the intake end of it. Turned the boost up to 17-18psi and smell tons of oil. I was worried I blew the thing up, nope it just sprayed oil all over my clean bay/exhaust...hence the oil smellz, lol.
So, what do you guys recommend for a catch can setup? Should I add some vents to the valve cover like Honda guys do? Who makes a quality can?
And, a few more crappy videos for fun:

Yay, more videos! I consider that enough thanks for the basket hookup

Glad it worked out for ya.
I have that vortex can thing from 034. Any can will do really. I'd get an ebay one and call it a day. I just have my crank vent thing (with puck) running right into the can and then it vents. You could definitely do the valve cover vents though. Nothing wrong with that. My can fills up every 6 months or so.
