No rest for the wicked, eh, Jim? I was going to ask if you wanted to come up to Florians later to see Chris, but it looks like you have a full plate.

I would normally, but I have a lot of festivities planned for the next week and unfortunately playing with cars is not one of them.

Hey Jim, looks like Greg, Chris and me are making a "yard swoop" in the morning. In need of anything specific?

are these 9 or 9.5" wide? whats the offset?
also how close is a 90q rocker length vs cq?

9.5" to fit the 275 tyrs. The CQ is shorter in the rockers, so you would have to shorten them which is much easier than stretching them. Also look into the avant side skirts, I think they are shorter

I just got everything together last night. I built everything with about 1/8" clearance. I could get another 1/16"-1/8" with a bit of grinding if necessary. It is all up to you on how much clearance you dial in but the more clearance, the less ackerman. I gave up on trying to save ackerman and rotated them enough to provide the clearance required.

There are a few updates coming tomorrow, side skirts have taken up a lot of time, but the brackets are on and now I just have to fine tune them.
The A6 has taken up my last three free weekends with emissions/catalytic converters, thermostat and brake issues. It's all sorted so back to the 90. BBQ or bust, the car may not be all yellow, but it will have the fenders on by then!

Just as a reminder....Hank modified his fenders and the car showed up painted all red.

But we would be ok with all yellow. The ole car just wouldn't seem like Jim's if it wasn't yellow.

I just meant there was no excuse for not having it painted.

I knew thats what you meant, but we won't need a complete color change like Hank did.....yellow will do!! Get on it Jim!!

OK, I will get more pics of the steering setup when the front end comes off again.
Here are the side skirt brackets. The underside of the car is so dented and tweaked the the best solution in my mind to just glue them on

If they ever come off, I will add some rivets, but this glue is not going anywhere!

Final resting spot, not I can build the fenders to mate up.

The aftermath

Now onto the rear control arms! The arm on the right is as they come from 034. The arm on the left has been spaced as far back as possible with spacers and rod end adjustment, and I added rubber boots to the rod ends. This is to re-center the wheel in the larger arch.

Random event of the day, WTF??

Ended the day here. Made blanks to cover the factory bumper mounting holes. Now I just have to mate these two together and the rear S2 bumper mounts will be taken care of.
