Corey, no its just a regular Holset. Its an H1C, but it has a 12cm exhaust housing on it from an HX35 (HX35 is the slightly updated version of the H1C)

I had fun this morning passing everyone making turbo noises :D

PS. very nice to see its almost all done. Now lets get you some Euro headlamps and one of my front grills

Where have you been? You must have missed his incessant posting about it. He got 034 to build a cheap cast 20v t3manifold.

BTW, I'll say I'm happy with the manifold so far aside from redrilling the holes. Its a solid piece for sure. The wastegate works well *so far* despite the placement too.

Thanks fellas :)

I had a smoke issue today. I was gettin on it a little with my whole 6psi and then saw a police so I pretty much just threw it in neutral. Oil pressure went from 5 bar to probably something like 1.5 because my idle is so low and when I looked in my mirror I saw some smoke. Looked white, but I'm sure it was light blue oil smoke. Drove it for at least two more hours at different times in the night and it never did it again. I'm hoping its a rare thing. If it gets worse, $60 rebuild. If not, then I'm good. Turbo seems to be loving life though.

I have a bigger issue at hand though. Its completely unrelated to the Holset thankfully. I noticed some clicking/clunking coming from the right front suspension area. I haven't had a chance to take a look at it yet, but it was an audible and also sensible thru various inputs in the car like a slight tang-kinda vibration when it would happen. Sorta similar to the coilover springs binding up a little around tight turns.

It was a fairly quick clicking though. Would happen a little bit when I hit the brakes and then a lot when turning the wheels left or right. Maybe 2 clicks per second or so? I dunno :( I'm sure I'll notice something when I inspect further. Maybe someone has some BTDT though. Its always something!

I also need an air filter for this turbo. I need something like a pancake filter...sorta like that HKS one. I don't intend to spend retarded money though.

My ideas right now range from CV's to tie rods. Jacked the front of the car up for a minute this morning and felt the play turning the wheel with my hands from passenger to driver, etc. and the tie rod definitely has some play.

I was also thinking CV's since it seems like it doesn't click when I first start driving it. Then (as they heat up a bit maybe?) they start clicking when I drive for a little while. Never when I'm going straight tho except for a clunk when I hit the brakes sometimes. When I'm turning at low speed though, its clearly audible and clicks multiple times during the turn.

CV's not a bad idea... have you replaced the boot on that CV shaft? If so, maybe the CV's finally done. clicking though....and the thunk.... is your caliper loose? Sway bar bushings/connections loose?

Yeah, I plan to look at all of those things. The clicking is varies in intensity. You could almost call it a small clunk at times.

Caliper loose will really piss me off lol time for new brackets if thats the case.

CV boot hasn't been replaced, thats why I'm thinking CV finally done as well.

hmm Tim how much? PM me. I will either do that or order a brand new one for peace of mind

Sam, no its not faster because of stock injectors. When I get the big boys in then yes...it should be quite a bit faster

are the stock injectors running at max duty cycles?

Not max, but like 80% and if I revved over 6500, they would be at max pretty quickly yes

You should probably order a clutch now while you're waiting lol.

yeah...I probably should. I don't want to waste $700 or so though yet if I don't have to. I'm hoping the stock clutch will hold up to 300awhp for a little while. Stock one on my 1.8t held it alright but was just slightly slipping at 300whp. Looked great when I took it out to replace with a southbend though.

the clutch in my 200 started to slip with the chip but it also had 254k on it... haha

ha, I guess we'll see

Ordered the mighty 4" $15 shipped mushroom filter! Can't really go wrong with that. Anything is better than open air or a screen, so I'll be happy.

Glad I could help. :D

So about those injectors... (see previous page for post on bottom of page)

dammit Corey, you need to read better. I responded. I said they are almost maxed out. I'm hitting like 80% which is fine, but near 6500 or above they start to creep up. 100% duty cycle is easily reached above 6500 at only 6psi on this turbo. Pretty awesome haha.

I ordered ID1000's (should be here tomorrow). I might sell them to go with injector clinic 1100's if anyone wants to buy the ID's. Its just a case of brand loyalty. The ID's are awesome, but the injector clinic has been doing the same thing for longer. Good friend of mine was in sorta an epic internet battle with ID (they also battled it out in person later), so thats really all. Just want to support someone else. If not, I know I'll be happy with the IDs. I'll just get shit every time I go there haha.

I either have to get the Hank manifold or get different top hats to install the injectors. Not sure which is going to happen (depends on time and money).
