just count the knock sensors on the driver side on the motor is they are still there. 1 sensor = mc1, 2 sensors = mc2.

FWIW, AngryTaco makes better hoses.

But, still, new parts are sweet!

I would return that hose if I were you. They have an issue were swell up. Only seen it with cheap Chinese hoses. AngryTaco uses the same people in the USA who supply Boeing.

Swell up? Like, under boost it'll balloon?

From heat cycling and exposure to engine vapors. You will notice it after about 6 months of use. I know first hand. I was not thrilled. After I went with AngryTaco I have had zero issues. His are perfect.

Crap. Well it's good to know. I'm just going to keep it for the time being so I can keep moving forward. There's still a bunch left to do on the car and as much as I am against it normally, I'll just deal with it later. I appreciate your input!

Little late on updates. Been a busy week with everything. I worked on the car for a few hours Monday night after my parts showed up. With some grinding I got the intake manifold to fit nicely with the spacer. I'm sure I shaved more than needed but test fitting is a pain in the ass when you can't actually see what needs to be clearanced. So I went to town.... Haha.
DP, intake manifold and fuel rail is on. Injector harness is kind of goofy but more than likely due to the brackets 034 came up with as well as the POs just wanting to make fire. I'm more than likely going to make new fuel rail mounts and a whole new engine harness. I'll get it to start and run first though before I jump into that whole ordeal.

I'm going to order up some tubing, silicone connectors, a BOV and a couple sensors today so hopefully next week I can completely finish all the mechanical stuff to get working on the electrical side of things. And then time to make fiiiiiiiiiiire!!

You have the same old school fuel rail I have. Make sure those bolts are good and tight, and the injectors are in all the way. I blew mine off more than once. Kind of scary. Do yourself a favor, get a hold of angrytaco, and get one of his CSI block off plates. That will free up a lot of room there above the rail. You will also need a TPS. I got one from a B4 V6. I got the sensor, and the pigtail, and it has worked flawlessly.

Another note, find yourself some kind of heat sleeving for the braided lines. It will help down the road when its running, and the lines wont get hot. Pay special ettention to the areas tunning right over the WG.

What coolant temp and air temp sensor do you plan to run? I am using the Factory NG coolant sensor, not really an option for you though. I believe there is a sensor on the back of the head you can use, I think thats the one Eric was using. For the air temp, I am running a standard GM open element. Works great, and megasquirt love it.

You need a cold start injector block off plate. Contact AngryTaco and tell him i sent you.

I was already planning on just making a plate for that injector. Quick search pulled up that he makes em cheap enough so I'm not even going to mess with it. Thanks for the direction guys, I'll shoot off a PM to him later.

I already have some sheathing from a past build I was thinking of using for the fuel lines, being as they're really close to the waste gate. You actually reminded me that I need to dig em out. :)
Same with the tps. It's off right now but it's got what I think is a 7a tps. Either way it's got 6 wires so should work just fine. As for sensors, I'll use GM stuff. I need to pull out what's in the head now to verify what it is, but I'm thinking I'll just need an IAT sensor. I don't really like the sensor that's hooked up now. Sorry for the patchy post lol, at work trying to be sneaky...

Prob the only real update I'll have for the week... Have some parts ordered to finish up the IC plumbing as well as a stimboard to test this ecu and a couple sensors. I'm pretty dead set on making a new harness, so I'll try and get some connectors and whatnot ordered up in the next couple weeks. I still have to cut up an intake manifold on the rally car as well as get some paint sprayed.... So busy anymore haha! I'm kind of taking this week off and focusing on getting straightened out for the first race of the enduro season. I wrecked pretty hard last week dodging trees on the new bike so I'm hobbling around a little lol. Test and tune on Wednesday to get the bike dialed and then a good pounding on Thursday to warm up for race day. Loving the nice weather!

Sooooo I thought I wasn't going to be working on the car much this week haha. WRONG! Raced a 60mile enduro yesterday and instead of sitting around and being sore, I could be sore in the garage. I finished up the IC plumbing this afternoon. Buggered up one of the silicone elbows by cutting it too short, so I'll need to order up another. Doh! Happy with how it turned out! No tubing running all over the place and it's about the cleanest I could get it.

Now that that's done....... Megasquirt.
My stimboard came last week along with some other bits. I've spent the past few days on and off, trying to get this damned thing to bench test and communicate with my laptop to no avail. Lots and lots of reading ahead of me....

Nicely done! I like how you were able to run the pipe over the IC like that. Keep going like this, and you'll be running in no time!

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. With the bumper, silver trim and grills in, you can't see any of it, especially being black. It all hides really nicely. I've got just a couple of mechanical things to button up and then it should be balls out trying to get is started and running on this megasquirt doodad haha. My eye balls hurt from reading....

Soooo.... Race season kicked off on the dirty bike last month. MY season is kind of short due to my work schedule but I hit all the enduros, can't make any of the hair scrambles which stinks. Oh well! Had two races last month, break in July and then 3 races in August. So far I'm sitting in first place with 2nd and 3rd place finishes so I'm pretty stoked! Hotter than hell here lately so I haven't been able to ride as much. Started working on the cars again though now that I've got a month to relax a little!

I sent my "unknown" MS1 to Elaw to work pick through it and make sure it's working as it should. I couldn't get it to do anything here but after a little monkying, he got it to work! He's adding a couple of things as well as setting it up to make my life a little easier down the road. HUGE thanks to ya Elaw! Helluva guy!

So with the ECU gone I've been trying to button things up mechanically so when I get the ECU back I can plug it in and try starting it. I ordered a new harness being as the one that was in the car wasn't salvageable. Also ordered up a bunch of JPT pins, terminals and a few connectors from Corsa Technic. Which by the way is an AWESOME outfit to deal with. Great prices and they're customer service is top notch!! I highly recommend them for a source of VAG connectors and wiring supplies. I also ordered a nice crimper from VEMS so hopefully that shows up within the next couple of days.

As it sits now, all the IC plumbing is done and clamped down, odds n end interior bits are back where they belong, bolted on the CSI plate I got from Jared a few weeks ago and have started trimming the fuel rail plates a little to get a better shot at the injectors. I'm thinking for the end injectors I'm going to make up little mini extension harnesses so there isn't any dinking around with plugging and unplugging them. Such a pain in the ass....
I'm currently sorting out the MS harness on my bench figuring out how I want to run this thing. I'm thinking the injectors, IAT and TPS are going to run along the fender in one big branch and the Dizzy, coil,CLT and grounds are going to be a seperate branch on the DS of the motor. I don't really want wiring over the wastegate, so I'm thinking this may be best. I think I've got most of it figured out and am about to start figuring out how I want to get power and control the FP relay. After spending close to an hour comparing the two MS wiring diagrams I have with my harness, I think I have it figured out. The diagram that came with the harness along with the colors of some wires, is different than a diagram I was referred to. After verifying that the harness was pinned properly(minus missing 1 ground) I've gone a head and started separating everything out to get to length.

SLOWLY making some progress on both cars but hey, progress is progress right?

Fun fun!

Yes he is! Very knowledgeable guy who has explained tonnnnnns to me. It would have taken me months to figure out, what he did in just a couple of days.

Same here. He is one of the few MS people, that I have met, that will help you and not just say "figure it out". I had a lot of help with my setup, as its not really my thing. Between Shawn's wiring, Eric's MS knowledge, and a few others that have helped along the way with both, mine is pretty well dialed in at 1.8 bar. There is still the nagging things here and there, but nothing terrible.

I wonder if he loaded you up with my tune? That would be great, then we could compare notes haha.

re wiring over the wastegate.... if you don't put any sheilds on it and are very enthusiastic with your driving it is possible to melt the wires to the last injector (wires were a little long anyway) found that out with some testing a couple years ago.

So now I shield the wastegate and run that reflective heat shielding loom wrap crap over the last injector and keep everything well away from that toasty little guy, I also run my injector harness to the core support and then back towards the back of the engine simply because of that experience.

does it run yet?

That's exactly what I've gotten from Eric as well. I'll ask him a question and his email response is a small novel lol! It's awesome. He answers questions before I even have them.... I hope he loads your tune! I'll ask him. :). Would save me a bunch of dinking around, even though it would be beneficial to me in the long run.

AJ- that was my exact thought with not running them over the wastegate. Plus that whole area is really busy with hoses and wiring, running that part of the harness along the fender to the core support and then back would clean things up a bunch I reckon. I even had a thought tonight of tying all the injectors into one connector at the front of the motor and running the wiring under the fuel rail, just to make it really clean. Being as it's just batch fire anyhow... And it kind of runs. I was doing 3rd gear pulls for awhile until I became light headed from making engine noises.

I'm sure the monster BOV sounds you were making did you in for the light headedness  speaking of that, what are your plans for that? I didn't see anything in the pics.

I've come to love his novelesk replies. He has gotten pretty used to answering dumb questions, as I ask a lot.
