It's all Zepmorea's fault really. He was looking for a 20v header so I sold him pretty much the entire upper half of my old engine. I already miss the economy of the 20v, but this is obviously the next step for me. :woowoo:

looksa like fun :D hey Jim, i bet you didn't quite know what to do with yourself when you were putting that stuff together....

:jim: *pulls header out of box, looks over approvingly, slides on head with two nuts, slips turbo on* "well, that was easy, time to pack er' up and call it a night!"

haha, it's pretty nice to pull out a piece that's been developed and you just bolt on eh? :P

Exactly, my biggest problems are the IC and exhaust, which should take all of a day each to fix up. Ohh yea, I'm also doing the MR2 electric power steering pump. Now I just pray the pistons get here soon so I can get the block to the machine shop.

Damn you Jim, I wish I could buy everything all at once. Built motor, inlet and exhaust manifolds finished. Time to ask for a raise I guess...

Looking way nice!! When you went to the dark side, it looks like you're jumping in with both feet. I can't even get the 20v running again, let alone make the built 20v jump. I gotta say though if anyone deserves it you do. Way to go!

Heh, yea, she's gone till Mon. I'll have it ready to run very soon, but I'm guesing the soonest we'll see it run is a month from now since I still don't have the pistons and then the machine shop will need it for a week or two after that.

Jim,

The project looks amazing!! I wanted to get together and meet you and Nate for the last track day, however work got in the way and it was killing me to see the great pics and not be able to play..

If you ever need an extra hand turning a wrench or holding something let me know. I'll be around over the weekend and am down your way several days a week and can break away from work (self employed) if I don't have a deadline or client on my hands.

Cheers,

Tom

Good question I've been thinking about using them too!

Ok, so on the Wiseco pistons. A buddy who has a freind that works there hooked me up big time we'll just leave it at that. I said, 83mm bore, 8.5:1 CR and he said cool, you should have them in three weeks. I think you could probably tell them it's for a ur-s4 and they would know what to make. If not I can try and share more info once I get the pistons like job #s or something.

Here's what I found out while shopping for pistons. JE is usually the most expensive, probably just because of name. But, they have a reputation of getting stuff out a little quicker and on time. Many of the others it's best to be prepared to send in a sample and wait to have it speced out. Also, talk to your local machine shop or performance shop to see what they can get.
