Thank you! I appriciate your help, now the fun really starts. Im still trying to finish going threw the list of ABC's of running high boost on a 20v thats on smj. Once i am done, i will be swapping my turbo to a s4 turbo (k24), 2.0 bar chipped ecu (its already in the mail 8-), 1.9 bar WG spring from 034 Motorsport and fuel pump relay. I still wanna order a bypass valve from 034.

Now me and my cousin are in a friendly competition of whos faster. Hes got a 2006 VW jetta 2.0t 6 speed with APR tune. Pushing ~17 psi. Should be fun!

Nice! the 034 relay kit can easily be made for super cheap, a lot of members here end up upgrading them anyway (See mushasho's thread). Should be a close match aha!

Whats up,

So after getting my 034 motorsport bypass valve. The last piece to my phase 1 on project 200. I decided to stop hoarding parts and its time to start installing them. So if everything works out how im planning this saturday i should be working on the 200. Ill be doing:
•Swapping chipped mac-14 ecu (thanks to Gtjeff for hooking me up!)
•Swapping 1.9 bar WG spring from 034 motorsport
•Installing fuel pump relay from 034 motorsport
•Swapping the s4 turbo
•Swapping straight pipe exhaust from the Fwd Exhaust

Image

Since im gonna be removing the exhaust, down pipe and turbo. I was planning on installing new exhaust manifold exhaust gasket, upper oil feed line gasket for turbo, oil return line at turbo gasket, 4 hole turbo gasket, lower block oil return line gasket and the intake manifold gasket.

Thanks for looking!

And the fun begins! Yes, definitely a good time to do all those gaskets.

Nice stash of parts, can't wait to hear it.

On the gaskets I would agree they are all good to do - but honestly I would leave the exhaust manifold alone stripping those studs are too easy and can lead to downtime. Plus if it isn't leaking you're probably fine for a long long time mate.

Yeah the way i see it, im already gonna be removing parts, might as well go the extra step and replace the gaskets while im in there.

Themagellen: thanks for the tip. At this point the last thing i would want is down time.

Ill make sure to take as many pics as possible. Now to figure out how to install the bpv.

Whats up everyone,

Its time for an update. So this past weekend i was planning on swaping parts, but i ended upnworking a bit later then i had planned. After work i was still determined to work on the 200 so i decided to take the 200 to a muffler shop so i could get rid of the resinsators and have it straight piped 8-) . After the work was done the 200s exhaust tone is orgasmic. So i decided to cruise for a bit before filling up on gas. I filled up my gas tank and before leaving the gas station i noticed a puddle under the trunk area.
I go look at it and found this:
Image

The retard at the shop decided to weld the new hanger for the exhaust right onto the fuel tank :bangshead: so after arguing with the shop owner, which was very rude. I called a tow truck to get the 200 towed back to the shop so they can look at it.
Image

So $80 bucks later for the tow and 4 days later of being at the shop being "fixed" i just got the car back yesterday. Seems ike they took the gas out, welded the leak and sprayed some kind of rubber on it. Which now has really taken my peace of mind. Im hoping this weekend ill be able to at least swap out the WG spring and install the fuel pump relay.

Ill post up videps of the 200s exhaust tone as soon as photobucket decides to work.

Can't wait to hear it - Triple A is a good investment (100 mile or 250 mile) you would have almost paid for it all by now.

Haha I agree it would be a good investment. The car has been running a month tops and its already been towed 3 time since I've owned it. I'm like a terminator/herpes ill keep coming back  I'm commited to this project!

Whats up everyone,

I figured it was time to share the great news. Finally after all the set backs and working late,, i was able to swap out the chipped ecu, 1.9 bar WG spring and new tps. Also i ended up up the exhaust videos to youtube since they wouldnt show up on photobucket. Thanks to gtjeff for all the advice!!!

Removed the Wastegate cap:

Wastegate diaphram seems to been in good shape:

For now i decided to strap the intercooler, i was so excited to find the worm drive straps that i did it in the home depot parking lot :foff:

Heres the link to the video the exhaust, it was taken before this was all done:

Whats up everyone,

I cant foget about the 20vt 200 now that i picked up the 20vt 200 :D . So today i ended up ordering a few parts for the 20vt. I ordered silicone michelin man and isv hose, from angrytaco. Thanks for hook up!

So today i ended up working a bit later then i planned. On the way home :drive: , as i was getting on the on ramp for the highway i noticed a old school toyota celica speeding as i was speeding up on the on ramp. By the time it was time to merge we were side by side ( celica in the next lane over) and we both gun it! He was surprised to see me keeping up. Once we got a good opportunity we gave it an other try.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-_cwhK ... ata_player

Even thought i won, i noticed the 20vt didnt pull as hard as it had been before. Once i got to my cousins house ( guy who filmed) i popped the hood and started checking to see what was going on.

Found the hose that goes from the cis boot to the 3-way breather hose on the valve cover was all cracked and creating a boost leak.

Image

So for now i grabbed some black electric tape and covered thevcracks as a temporary fix. Im considering just replacing them with some silicone ones from 034 motorsport. Has anyone used them?

Nice run… you just walk away - I think the new audi trending topic will be to win a race with a 4 people in the car or it doesn't count. We can all thank Mushasho for that new fad.

Also nice find on the breather hose - CIS is insanely more temperamental with CIS as there isn't much correction factor from the ECU so glad you found that!

hats up guys,

So my schedule at work has just been getting really busy. So at this point if i can work on the 200 5 min. Ill take them. Just wanted to give you a small up date of the what i been doing to the 200.

So i ended up ordering a couple silicone hoses from angry taco (thanks for everything!). Since i had found a boost leak, i decided that its time to replace what ever hoses i can with silicone.

First i removed the isv:

Comparing the hoses:

Installed the new silicone hoses:

Installed the clamps and isv:
Image

Its a simple and easy upgrade. I felt like the idle felt alot smoother then before, overall im happy with them. I also ended up buying the michelin man hose, which i was told that it tends to go once you raise the boost. This was an other easy and simple upgrade.

Removed the mm hose:

Comparing the mm hoses.silicone on the left, rubber on the right:

Installed the new silicone mm hose:

Im really happy with the hoses, their is nothing like peace of mind that replacing an old part with a new one gives you. Since the mm hose was i stalled, the 200 seems to pull harder. Next on the list is to replace the 3-way hose at the valve cover and the block breather hose with new silicone ones.

Does anyone have a good place to order t-clamps in different sizes? I would love to replace all the old and tired clamps. Ive been to all my local stores and they tend to only carry 2 at a time :bangshead:

Thats it for now, thanks for looking!

Hope you are okay. Totally sucks but it looks like now you have a perfect running donor 20vt and running gear for a small chassis car.
