Original engine is coming out by hand, on the floor, bits and pieces being cleaned up and placed on the built motor on the stand. Seeing as I don't have all the hardware in yet to mount the turbo, I'll be pulling the head off this to inspect it's failure. So this motor should be out by tomorrow... I can then degrease and tidy the bay up for the built motor. If I get antsy, I might just throw the old t04e back on & break it in on the dyno, seeing as "recent" t04e numbers have sort of been requested for comparison sake and mainly just for my own...

I doubt that will happen as I wanna take advantage of an empty bay to figure out/route my meth kit & my oil cooler kit. Oh and that reminds me, have you been able to get a quick pic of that passenger side motor mount? I can possibly use those Mustang Motor mounts too, if I get my Summit order...

I have plenty to do though like that shiny new fuel pump that's just sittin there, though I'd like to leave that for after the motor runs. I wouldn't wanna introduce too many variables if a non start condition arises...

I have not been under the car since last week so no pics of the mounts, sorry. I will snap some next time I'm under there. I suggest replacing them while the engine is out, makes it muuuuch easier. Summit is usually REALLY quick with my orders.

My opinion is you should not waste time with your old turbo installing, tuning, etc just to have to do it all over again with the PTE. Nobody cares about T04's anymore lol.

Those looking for a k26 bolt on replacement might... ;)

and I wasn't thinking of retuning, just use my current VEMS file to see where I was... it's just a thought tho...

Well in that case, you're not showing the potential of the turbo anyways

I don't think they are to be honest... At this point the only thing this thing has going for it is it's probably more ancient k26 hotside, lol

They are not made anywhere. Not 034, any turbo shop on google, and even some weird tractor place that used to make them... hard to find one used even cool old big turbos haha

Those ATP housings are 399$ a piece without custom machining, so hopefully they can offer the rest of the turbo for sub 450$ to be competitive with what I already have.

That is some bad detonation. Whatever you do, don't run that same tune on the new motor.

What do the rest of the cylinders look like?
