Derek,
Sweet car! I'm not all that jealous, 'cuz mine is also an '83 Urq that started life as a gobi metallic as well. I have mine painted sunshine yellow, and some day will be adding the white stripe and hood plus tons of factory decals. So I wouldn't hate on the respray. Two things though . . .

Ya wanna sell that center VDO cluster?! c'mon, I KNOW you do . . .

What did it take to go from better to best on the bumpers. I've got my at "better" currently and would like to tuck them in more. Please let me know all that's required.

I'm working on getting a digital camera to document my project. I've had similar overheat issues and just standard weirdness. If I can help in anyway let me know.

I've got some great solutions for deleting the inner headlamps and using halogen hi/lows on the outside like the a2 and sport quattros. I've also made up some group b style mudflaps if you want the rally car look . . .

Remember you wanna sell me the center VDO cluster :-D

peace on it

the "better" style look on the front bumper requires trimming the inside brace... about 1" off of it to allow it to slide in further. it really makes the US spec bumper look acceptable :P

the VDO gauge pod stays with me :P

i'd love to see some pics of your car, so hurry up and get them put up! photobucket is a great source for hosting if you have nowhere else :)

There's a Taxi dash extension on Audifans right now. http://www.audifans.com/marketplace/sho ... ts&id=5602

Price is a bit steep. :o

Yeah newt I knew that was coming. In derek's pics it looks like a single unit though . .

as for pics:
hosting is not the prob, lack of the camera is, but like i said I'm working to correct that.

I threaded my struts down to the "shock". So do just need to trim the "tab" that sits under the side blinkers?

One word of advice, if you find them, grab some extra sunroof pins. i've had a few break for the pop out sunroof and spent nearly a year finding more . . .

And as you may have seen, I'm working on "pioneering" (i like that phrase) a suspension swap for these cars if you are hesitant to chop up the UrQ struts.

I swear, someday pictures to follow . . .

peace on it

on the bumper... i can't remember now what i ran into. it was like a year and a half ago that i trimmed it up...

Yea really, Javad has a higher power to weight ratio than most of the Audi Sport 5 cylinder cars.

But there is one thing that you have that he doesn't, an A6 V8 stick with "custom paint" Lambo rims.
