thanks! but i am going really slow working on the car these past months. the day after tomorrow, this happens. then it will be RADIO SILENCE for quite a while. but the plan is to run 8 seconds next season.... if i live that is. because of this herniated disc problem, the last time i drove the car i had to quit early and was almost in tears and crawling it hurt so bad. i endured 5 passes and gave up, broken.
and the reservoir came from Summit Racing.
i did the all new front brake lines, now i just have to hook the line from the rear master to the staging brake and the rears are done too.
but this is what i am looking forward to in two days, not super excited about it, but needs done i guess. one thing that troubles me is the fact that they will remove the complete lamina instead of make a small hole in the passageway. another is the fact that they will be moving my spinal cord around some. sketchy stuff....

Best of luck with the back, having had to go under the knife for a herniated disk i feel for you. Dont be frustrated by the lack of mobility and pain at first, its a part of the game. Focus on the rehab, these people know what they are doing and want nothing more than to get you the fawk out there as soon as they can.
BE PATIENT!!
DON'T GET FRUSTRATED!!
BE PATIENT!!

Hey Aaron, Looking good.
Dont forget to add an adjustable clutch pedal stop so you dont over travel your clutch. BTDT

thanks H, for the remind. and i am on it, its in my mind. i cant do anything towards that until i have the actual motor in with the clutch assembly on it, to know where the travel needs to stop. but its on my to-do list.

So Aaron,
How do you know where to set the stop? I'm assuming its by feel?

i set the old one up by feel, yes. there is a point in the pedal travel that you can "feel" that let me know it was fully pressed in, and pushing further was doing nothing.
maybe it is hard to explain.

Requires 2 people
Put car in gear and sit in seat. Have helper push on car against gear. Then slowly depress clutch until car begins to move and hold pedal there. Have helper come measure position. Then build stop with min 1/2" adjustment each way from that point. Then repeat with stop in place and adjust to about 1/4-1/2" pedal travel below creep point

thanks H. will do that in March sometime i guess

that will be great if it can improve my 60' time. because honestly i felt as if there was a quick spot on my release before it caught up and actually released. if i am making sense. it was really more pronounced with the launch valve setup in place, made it more obvious.
and my final work on the car, for now til awhile, and to end out 2012: finished up the brake lines, from the rear MC to the staging brake, to the rear line. just have to tighten all the front fittings from the motor side of the firewall to the SS lines, then bleed brakes. i suppose i could do all that in les than an hour, but i dont wanna.
and its final, break time for physical work on the car. surgery in T-minus-12 hours.
and i will make a long list of To-Do items, i already have a fair amount of ideas, just need to jot them down.
and also a long list of To-Buy items, like AWIC core and other much needed stuff.
and i had to go get a recliner chair from Rent-A-Center today, as i guess i will become best friends with one here for the next few weeks for sure they tell me. 8 weeks minimum no work, car work, bending, twisting, lifting>5lb. imma go CRAZY!!!! wonder how many times i can get banned from VWKotex? LOLz.

The car looks great. Take your time to thoroughly recover and you'll be good as new. Good luck on all fronts (or backs?)!

I chuckled at the "how many times I can get banned" comment.
Good luck.

thanks guys. all is good so far. not even 24 hrs later.
it hurts of course, but what is going to kill me are the restrictions of mobility for 8 weeks. THAT is gonna be the hard part for me. and that 8 weeks was minimum!
tomorrow at 10:30 am i get to take the bandage off and see the incision. interested about that.

In pretty sure West Marine Carries that same unit. At least they did a few years ago. Check the one here in Spokane while you are waiting for your 3rd addition.
