Ha ha on that brake hose, the best starter saga was when I did drove back from NED, and did stuck in 1.5hr traffic with welded clutch, with my better half next to me asking why is smoke coming from underneath the hood, and I be like, what smoke I do not see any the poor thing was almost catching on fire I guess

hey Hank, did you use some kit for your plug wires? your car pulled nice and clean and with a lot of cyl pressure so I would say that you have a good combo. i would like to copy please.

ps. are your running 034 coils and waste spark? I guess I am talking about the old days when you had the IIc and I checked out the car.

Wondering too what sort of kit / parts combination for is spark wires..they surely do the job!

Yeah, I can shed some light. This kit is from MSD for a Hemi. They use 8.5mm wires and a unique dropdown for the spark plug. While they turned out awesome, they do require a lot of modification. The Hemi hole is a lot wider, so you end up having to chuck up the sleeves and lathe them down to the correct OD. Not for the faint of heart. I suppose you could hand shave them with a sanding wheel, but it would be tedious! It is a product I plan on offering in the near future. They have been great wires!

Boots must be available

they are already crimped for the spark plug side. The coil side can be determined, but they are setup for the MSD/034/stock coil from summit

The boots can be purchased in bulk, all the parts for that matter,
I ran "A" boots for a while and they were fine, not as good of a fit as the hemi boots
But no trimming required

The actual boots are small cylinders about 2 inches long on the sparkpluf side. The plastic cover that grabs onto the plug is what needs modified. This is nice bc it makes the load of pulling the wires off directly on the wires, not the crimp. I'll take better pictures later.

I was worried about that with too short of a boot.

hmm, Hank, can we get a part number or some type of identification for the plug ends? i have my ends for the coil side, so if I could just by the plug ends and 25ft of wire i would be good. i better ask the question- if the plug ends are diy crimpable though?
BTW what are you running for plugs and gaps?

Eeek. I'll look on those holders, but they didn't have any identification on them. The plug ends are pre-crimped. You only crimp the coil end. 160 bucks is a little spendy, but remember you get 3 extra wires for that. In the game of high hp/liter it sn't a question of if the wires will burn out, it is when. Always nice to have a couple pre-crimped in the trunk.

Which look like they may have a narrower OD.

Those will need less modification perhaps, but hte necks still need modified to clear the hole. By trimming them, you lose the locking mechanism of the puller. I safety wired mine and then put heat shrink over the top.

Good to see scale, I did not think they were so long. Makes me wonder about the "ZR-1" boot to go with my LS coils. It will be a while before I need to make wires, hopefully.
