Go for option 1, I did hit 143mph on a strip last year in a 4 gear

Good idea, Chris. Would be pretty unique...might as well, while you are in there.

Janis, I'm going for 11k or bust!

I'm probably going to rescale the tach electronically and make a faceplate when that time comes :)

yeah, that is the plan... and I mean 11k, not 10k ;)

So I fixed the odo. Had to drill out the new gear just a tiny bit (more like reaming it out) so it would spin nicely on the other gear. Not bad for something not even application specific. Just ask if you need instructions on how to do this. I'd be happy to help.

Image

and "while I was in there" I "fixed" the tach too lol

Image

works nicely so far up to 7800. Can't really test it beyond that yet! The sad thing is that when I can test it, it won't be enough :D at least thats the plan

oh and thats my super duper ABZ to VEMS harness in the background! (not quite finished yet)

Looks good Chris! I gotta fix the ODO in the 90, I'm glad you posted that up. :)

yeah, you should order on ebay while they are available for $11. Its not all that hard to do either.

In other news, I just paid for that "built" 5 speed. Cryoed and WPC coated mainshaft and 1st and second gears. Also, we are tuning my roommate's E30 tonight on the dyno. Its a Holset H1C (54mm) and will be limited to 15psi because thats when stock head gaskets on those cars like to blow apparently.

Very nice! I wanna see the numbers from that thing. How soon is the 01E 5 speed going in the 200?

01e is going in at the same time the engine comes out to do rods. Lately I've been thinking about having it oringed while its out though. It would only make sense. Just gotta talk to someone about those mysterious Swedish orings though.

The E30 did almost EXACTLY how I predicted it would. It made 236 whp on the 8psi tune we had in it. Then it made 260whp just with adding 3 degrees of timing in. It could have taken a bit more timing, but its a daily so we left it there. Then we added boost while checking the timing with the plugs (but not changing timing at all) and it made 331 whp and 315 ft lbs at 13.5 psi. It was spiking to like 17 on the dyno because closed loop wasn't set up yet on the boost controller so it probably made the torque at the peak boost, but it made the max power at 13.5. We then smoothed out the open loop map for the boost controller and its holding 15 psi all the way up now. I predict its making about 350 whp. The thing pulls like a freight train. Great power and torque curves. I'll make a thread about it when I get the plots and such. I've also got vids.

Man, that sounds awesome! And that's all on stock internals, correct? Just hearing that makes me want an e30. Now that you guys got his dynoed it's time to get yours on there :P

Didn't javad o-ring his block in his 90? I bet he would have access to them...

yeah, its a really awesome little car. I have a lot of love for BMW's. I drove my dad's E36 today and its just so much fun to drive. I think after the E36 they aren't quite the same though.

I have no idea on the details of what Javad did, but I'm sure its not like what Hap is doing with his car.

In other news, I drove a 2011 5.0 mustang today (again) around a track and it handled much better than the one I drove before somehow (got it a little out of control at about 60 around a chicane though!). I also drove the poo out of a grand sport vette , a volt, and a new CTS V wagon. My god, the CTS-V is quite possibly the best all around car ever made! Its just made of pure win in every feasible way. I got it a bit sideways and it was awesome :)

The car has been feeling slow for a while (ever since it got over like 8* C outside). I have had a sneaking suspicion that it was because of the IAT/MAT sensor. I haven't been paying any attention to it though so I wasn't sure.

I went out to the car today with the car off and temp of 90F outside. IAT said it was 98 C out!!!! The ECU pulls 6 degrees of timing at 80C. I fixed the IAT issue and butt dyno says I gained at least 60-70 hp lol. My face looked like this :D the first pull I did after fixing it.

oh and the odo does work now

Thanks :)

yeah, they are hard! You just have to pull outward while twisting. They wont pop loose the first time so you'll have to do it a few times, but eventually they will pop off.

I finally completed one of my front speaker box extensions today. It sounds 100x better than my original attempt! All I did was add more air volume by building expanding the speaker enclosure to take up as much of the door as possible. I'll post pics later on. Anyone with a t44 who likes sound quality should do this :)

**edit**

Here is a pic to give you an idea of what I did. The shape is what it is so it fits behind the door panel. Mind you, this is just the first mock up (very rough). It will be much cleaner when I finish it up. I might make a mold and just do a whole new one once its completely sorted out.

**end edit**

Also got an Autotech cam gear courtesy of Ben (thank you!) just so I can throw it on when I put the rods in. I figure its peace of mind as far as the possibility of the stock one's key shearing AND I can try the cam timing retard trick.

Haven't heard anything about my tranny... hope I get it lol

Should be getting an Audi sport steering wheel from Corey. I think that will be a nice touch to the interior.

Oh and I was dead even with a 408 whp skyline a week ago. Either he wasn't making the power its supposed to or I'm making more power than I thought :D During one of the races with the skyline my FPR line popped off :o car just shut down mid-pull and I popped it back on with a new zip-tie and went on my way! I definitely thought I blew it up, but once again the car has really surprised me and held together lol.

Haha, wow thats gotta be scary! It sounds like you may be pushing the 400whp limit on those rods... Dyno numbers would be really interesting to see. Arent you quite a bit heavier than the skyline?
