Re: B4 90 quattro with 2.5 TDI = 1200km (745mi) to a tank!

Not that much. Nothing to do with the TDI, I just find the B4 chassis to be a lot less entertaining than the B2 (typ 85) cars.
Given same power levels that is... I know I had more fun with my stock 115hp 4000 quattro and all diffs locked.
Moe power would surely compensate.

It's a newer and slightly heavier chassis so you won't "feel" the speed as much...and sure lack of locking diffs doesn't help.

Car looks good. Help me understand this here, why would you want an S2 Avant vs. regular B4 Avant for conversion? I don't see a challenge in getting a cheap V6 Avant and swapping everything over. S2 Avant is a nice car to have as-is.

at tdituning.at someone has an 2,5 TDI with about 250 hp @ 500 NM and without any hardware modification.
see: (registration required) http://www.tdituning.at/phpBB3/viewtopi ... =17&t=6162

He only use 0.260 nozzles and a gt2559v to reach 2 bar pressure.

So the 2,5tdi are very robust..

The logic is as such, S2 already has all the goodies (intercooler behind a proper bumper, 5-bolt, sport interior etc. etc.).
It's already a 5 cyl so no worry about chassis mods for the motor mounts and getting all the parts which the V6 does not come with.
I can then use the engine for my Sport project.

The red car above looks much better because it's a 5 cyl but I still have to get the S2 intercooler/bumper setup... if I am doing it again I will not be starting with a V6.

Got ya...I did forget your cutting and welding mounts and such. In your case then, if you can use the motor for the Sport build, it does make sense.

note that:

I have old 7A gearbox housing and 1.9TDI gears, if I'm mistaken, than it was CBL or CLB gearbox. It have biggest gear ratio...at know my max speed is 200 KM/H, but with gasoline gearbox was 160 KM/H

If you want more power, here is a 13mm fuel-pump-piston:

What car/truck were these pumps on?
Also, can I use the AEL pump in my car without having to reprogram the chip?
I think the pump is on it's way out and if I am going to change might as well use something newer.
If an AXG will work I can get those too.

Thanks

Bosch produced this until 2007/2008, only for VW-Motorsports like VW Touareg at desert rallye.

Now, this ebay-seller found the old production-machines and produced some of this 13mm-pump-pistons.

mhm, Yes, I think. Maybe you have to positioning the fueling device a little bit, but I don't know.
I'll ask them. Here is a discussion about that in German (you have to register):
http://www.tdituning.at/phpBB3/viewtopi ... 3&start=15
They used that with serial AEL-Nozzels.

All 5-cylinder TDI-Serialpumps have an 11mm Pump-Piston.
And there are some Tuning-shops who sell 12mm pump-Pistons (but almost made in China).
This 13mm Version is produced on original Bosch-machines, but not much of them, so they're limited.

My friend have this distributor head "in hands".
He took it to Bosch diesel service center and those guys took a lot of small metal particles out of it. In following week we'll see the performance quality.

And now runs GT2359V turbo from MB, 16bit MSA15 ecu, Race520 etc.
Performance is awesome :jerk:
Guess who made the program :-D

Cool, where did the 16bit MSA15 ecu come from?
My long term plan is to use the GT22V from T4

MSA15 is from 1.9tdi :D
It's made to work with software from 2.5tdi.

Ecu from this exact car:

i think it is from 1,9TDI 81kw? with VNT control. You did only software changes? or more? I am interesing in this. I have ecu and making the same project.

50% of 81kw ecus will do the job.
software changes:
sw from 2.5tdi
Mafless and egr full delete
4bar MAP sensor
custom tuning for turbo and much other changes.

small video from las year:
http://foto2.inbox.lv/wutang/Audi/29092011043.mp4
a lot of work to be done.

Now that is awesome! I'll have to ask what Malone's thoughts/ability is to make it play nice with an I5......

yes indeed.
And engine is strong enough to survive some serious torture :)

btw, today my friend got l5 13mm distributor head running on other car with similar setup only k16 turbo. After some break-in hours we'll see the performance and then adjustments, adjustments, adjustments.

I am little bit confused. I whant put any VNT turbo, not Waste gate control to my AAT/AEL. But i can't do dissision what way choose.

1. Swap ecu to MSA15 and then search who make me map's, or share flash what can work with 2.5 and control VNT turbo.
2. Swap ecu to T4/LT with VNT control and do remap.

any help?

few days ago take out 2.5tdi engine and wirring. Now need start making wirring.

If your car will run standard injectors you don't need anything more than default turbo. It runs great till ~1.6bar. If you use K16 turbo (direct replacement) from audi 100 tdi, you can get ~1.7-1.8bar. Only problem will be IAT.
If your tuner is clever enough, you can use 074906021XX MSA15 sw in 028906021XX MSA15 ecu hardware both will work. Or you can come to me (LV) and I'll do sw change for you. Also I can sell you already modified ecu with failsafe sw.

For wiring you just need to change ECU plugs + 1-2 spare wires. If you go MAFless and delete EGR it will be easy - 2hr comparing and 1-2h soldering.

no, the K16 from AAT never reaches over 1,5 bar at maximum, same with the K14.
The K16 has only more air-flow, so it's better for higher rpm...

By the way,

Audi is now building a newer generation of the 01E-gearbox.
The new generation is called 0A3 which is more robust than 01E.

Look at SSP 325 (SSP means "Self Study Program"):
German Version:
http://www.vwclub.bg/~dragocl/pdf/SSP/ssp325_d3.pdf

English Version:
http://www.volkspage.net/technik/ssp/ssp/SSP_325.pdf

And it's very cheap in Ebay (under 200 Euros):
