lol, my first test run on my 20vt 4kq involved no drain line on the turbo so I got an exciting flood when I finally got a chance to test run it

I'm actually in Manchester right now, wish I had been able to swing by a little earlier and check things out first hand, making some very familiar and good progress 8)
ah man, why didn't let me know? I woulda stuck around at the shop had I known that :(

A little more work today. Still no fire but it'll be soon. I could actually start it tomorrow I think
Heat shielding installed, turbo tightened up to manifold, passenger side manifold finish welded:

drivers side

intake pipe adapter installed and tack welded. The ebay aluminum pipe is pretty crappy and hard to weld even after grinding off the polished surface. To prevent warpage on the intake adapter I may JB weld that piece, not sure yet.

Drivers side oil drain

passenger side oil drain and common oil supply location

More tomorrow

Marc, on the pic of the driver side drain. How far away from that bracket is the Red part of the fitting were it goes into the SS line?? Looks real close from this angle.[/quote]
just the angle, plenty of clearance
The area I'm most concerned about is the clearance between the wastegate rod and the framerail on the passenger side.

^^^^^^^ Thats me, pretty much from the moment I got it running on, still grinning
Myke took a vid, the injector scalar is way off so it doesn't rev very cleanly but I didn't want to mess with it since I didn't have any o2 feedback of any kind hooked up. It took a little bit to get it running because the index timing vs the v80 map I used were quite a bit off, at least 7 teeth or so. Once I hooked up a timing light with Myke's help we got the timing set dead nuts on, then from there the thing pretty much fired right up after adjusting the injector scalar a bit.
:woowoo:
Film at 11 (or whenever myke gets a chance to upload it anyway)
