Ben jumps in with the quickest reply post you ever saw! LOL

No doubt. When you think about it, it doesnt matter how bad it looks because unless you lay down on the ground you aint gonna see it. People are just in awe when they hear this thing now. Every one in the shop was like " OH $#!^" when i threw some revs at them in the shop.

Got a temp fix on the exhaust using a couple peices of flat stock and a few hose clamps just to hold it together for a little while. Its super loud becuase of the huge leak where its broken and because the exhaust insert is now removed. Wanted to get a canyon run in with inside video so you could hear how loud it is. Only the driver window is cracked about 1" so you get the idea. Only about 65 degrees out so the tires werent warm enough to go super fast plus a lot of cars coming the other way...

Yep its always fun. Actaully had a crazy drive home a few nights ago. Was driving home through the cnayon at midnight and a group of 4 integras(clearly modded) and a turbo diesel benz passed me going the other way so i flipped around and followed them up the foresthill side of the canyon(like in my other canyon run vid) and passed the benz and three of the integras going up hill. Oh, and heres the kicker...I was in my GLI. LOL. I think they were form around sacramento and didnt know the road very well, but they sure were trying. One the funnest and stupidest things i've ever done. Promised myself i wont ever do that again.

When did you get that crack in the windshield?

Its always fun playin with ricers. The V8 torque is pretty good from 2500 to about 5500, its no big cube domestic V8 but it works.
Got the crack very early this year driving through a construction zone, sucks cuz its the original. I'm waiting to get other stuff finished on the car then I'll have it replaced.

Whats this?

Last week my car took a 600 mile trip to its temporary home in Oregon for a much needed exhaust transplant. The aluminum exhaust, however cool looking and sounding it was, was deemed to be insufficient and hence not worth repairing and modifying to suit my requirements. It will be replaced by a 3" stainless system with mandrel bends, Borla Pro XS muffler, and a resonator that will be easily removed to have a "test pipe" put in its place for when a louder note is desired.

You are correct sir. I used to drive it everyday to get to work. I moved so now i'm only 5 minutes from work and dont have to drive the canyon but its still only about 3 minutes from my house.

I know I promised you some pics of my mustang a while back so here they are while i remember. As it sits now...

Numbers matching boss 302 engine was rebuilt about 10 years ago to 10.0:1 custom comp forged piston, heads ported, everything balanced and blueprinted, and stuffed with a custom single pattern cam that was .590 lift and 280 duration at .050. It was fun but in fear of damaging the original block that was allready at .040 oversize it got removed and is biegn replaced with a 351 windsor with aluminum AFR heads, edelbrock victor jr intake, a decent comp cam, and nice stainless JBA headers. Someday it will get finished. Only the driver door and the black out treatment just below the rear window has been repainted, other than that its original paint. The interior is original except for the front seats which we had recovered about 8 years ago. Options are tachometer, PS, PDB, fold down rear seat, rear spoiler, 3.91 trac-lok rear end, and calypso corral paint(orange). I love how the stripes turn gold when hit with bright lights at an angle.

Forgot to mention about the options... This car is a Drag Pack car, so along with the 3.91 track-lok rear end it also has a factory oil cooler and the battery is mounted in the trunk. Kinda weird but they put a "battery delete" plate that sticks up where the battery would be if it were in the engine compartment kinda like the mopars that got the radio delete options got a delete plate to cover the hole in the dash.

Yes sir that is the real deal BOSS, very, very nice, good idea keeping that original block on the side like that. My machinist has real deal BOSS 302 1970 service motor with matching 4 speed trans code, I asked about the price just for the engine few years ago, he said somewhere around $4000.00. I'll say your car has very desirable options... drag pack, and color combo not seen much.... All those options say race me! ME I totally dig the reflective 302 strips...

I just got done redoing the top end on this junkyard A code engine I have here for the 2+2, 2.875 stroke x 4.00 bore 46 year old block it's never been bored flat tops with valve reliefs with no ridge and cross hatching looked great unbelievable for a engine this old. I added ATI Super Damper then installed MEGA 280 Isky cam 230 at .050 108 LC .517 lift, Comp springs, Ferrea SS 1.94 & 1.60 high flow valves into J code 1968 4v heads(1967-1968 GT 350 correct heads) nice ruff port job to keep the low end up total lift with 1.6 rockers is about .551 , I went from 18-22 mpg to about 15-19 mpg with that cam install I will say a fair trade. Currently 600 CFM DP with 70 and 71 jets, and it want's more fuel. I have a new Holley HP carb body here I'm going to fit to the old 600 DP should get me up to near 715-750cfm.

Man, i bet that is one nice runnin 289. Love those valve covers, have the same ones for the 351. I fixed the pics so now it shows the other two that i took. Nice twist at the end of that video. Some may argue it, but i refere to my audi as a "hotrod", and see (almost) every car on this forum as a hotrod too. The only ones I wouldnt consider to be a hot rod are the purpose built cars like Arrons drag CQ, Marks SCCA CQ, and high dollar builds like Haps S4(just because hot rodding is techincally supposed to be somewhat more budget oriented). BTW, 15-19 mpg isnt bad at all. The most we ever got out of the boss was 15 and that was driving to thunderhill for a shelby meet and no horsing around at all and 65-70mph going up I5. Having 700 cfm or more should wake that motor up a bit.

Quoted for truth.

I also refer to my car as my "hotrod."

Thanks PRY4SNO. Hot rodding truly isnt dead, it just looks different because we arent doing it with a 1938 ford business coupe or 1940 willys. The principles are still here though.
