Tried to tune a bit today, but I get overboost. I should have put a smaller spring in it. I'm going to go out and try 260 kPa later to see if it'll limit it by then. Also, my throttle cable comes loose. I never really got around to securing it properly. As a result, I kept getting later and later boost and funky pedal feel and I finally realized that I was only getting 23% throttle position at the end of my runs.

Also, the boost curve on this thing is ridiculous. You go from no boost (5-10 psi) to full boost (25 and beyond) in a second flat... when it gets around to it.

Hank is the manifold making MAN! He just got a shop at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway or whatever it's called. I can give you his contact info if you'd like, but be warned he is super busy getting the shop ready. I believe he is getting a website up one of these days as well, so keep an eye out!

I took two pretty good videos before I left. The last time I drove it, I really flogged on it as much as I could until misfires started showing up (it helped me avoid boost cut, so it was fine lol). Just plugs fouling out. I really want to upload the videos, but I just finally got internet in the UAE and I will get yelled at if I use up valuable bandwidth to post a video or two. I will try when I get to Saudi and have my unlimited 3G data plan for my computer lol.

To make up for it, here is a pic of where I went to dinner last night.

quick iphone vid and I have more with higher boost coming up when I can. When you hear me saying 15,25 I'm calling out the boost I see on the gauge. In the next vid, I was seeing 20 by 5k. Not great by most people's standards, but not bad for a turbo this size either. After 15 psi, the boost goes so fast you can barely see the needle, so full boost (whatever that may be) is close to 5500 I think.

Any suggestions for this build?

I am planning to ship the car to EFIexpress in September since I should be home to supervise the transport then.

Again, the basic plan is 750-800 awhp and 10.5-11k RPM. There will be no b.s. and there will be no falling short here. The goals will be met!! The basic architecture for the setup is all there at this point. 4" exhaust, Hank, or should I say, "Iroz Motorsport" manifolds, and large turbo. I would like to keep the HX52 or Pro52, but wouldn't mind having a modular setup where I can try something that might lend to a little better response. Anyway, that is neither here nor there and simple enough to change later on with a little welding and tuning.

The current plan is dry sump and solid lifter to attain the RPM goals I have set. The engine's power-handling capabilities, I'm not really worried about. Marc will take care of that just fine given the cumulative knowledge his connections (and personal experiences) have. What I am worried about is the trans. The quasi-plan is a built euro-tdi 01e (with trans cooler). I think that sounds OK, but who really knows? Maybe Gerner and Jones are some of the few that might know around these parts. Aaron seems to be doing well with his PAR setup. I want something that can hold the power and be driveable, but be able to take a launch if I want/need it to. Any better ideas are welcome! I could go 2wd and find something easily that would hold the power (don't really have to deal with snow in FL!), but that is lame. I want traction on the street!

I am also interested in miscellaneous items that are not necessarily required to hold the power, but are a nice addition for added reliability or performance. Throw me some ideas. A well-integrated cage would be one example.

Anyway, I just felt it was about time that I posted something here. I feel so left out with no project to update! Hopefully that will change in the relatively near future :)

Exactly, that's why I said it would be lame!

Dude, that sounds like it's going to be pretty batshit crazy! I approve. Are you going to destroke it in order to hit that RPM goal?

OH and by the way, if you convert to 2wd, I will personally buy a plane ticket and come smack you.

I think you need a Hapster style trans. I also think you will need a ginormous IC.
If you are going batshit crazy on this, why not go Norwegian style and put the rad in the trunk, so you have (more) room for the IC or whatever in the front.
