Ok so it was a boost leak. Just not the kind I normally think of.

Yeah I definately agree. I was actually thinking of it just like that when you mentioned the leak :) it's quite a serious one too!

I knew with the very hot weather that it had to be the n75 getting overheated or one of its hoses melted while it was parked or a breakdown of lubricity in the BPV although i didn't think of the latter until after sitting in font of a campfire for 4 hrs lol. Thanks for kickstarting my brain

I re-calibrated my o2 2-day and it was 2 #'s too high. Is that how wear on the sensor manifests? I dropped it 2 and that % was SMACK on th 20.9% and violently changing to 21% and back. It was as good for me as it was for the engine ;) I truly love how smooth the motor sounds. It's not the typical POS sound my 20vt makes (sorry taco :hide: !) but more buttery.

I wish I trusted people I know to drive it while I stand on the Rd and losten. Everybody in my family has had several car accidents. I'm so embarrassed of them LOL. I've been on the Rd for 11 almost 12 years and have had one accident that wasn't my fault. They totaled my manual 93 passat glx vr6 after that crap :( but right after that is when I bought my first audi 5k and parts car from a wealthy insurance guy. 5 years down the road I found out the guy's son was friends with a good gear head friend of mine which I went to uni with for MET. Small ass world!

In defense of the 20vt it sounds way better on the exhaust note but the actually under-hood mechanical noise is shit due to the EM Crack being so bad...

I had to lower the calibration # from 218 to 216 I think it was

I'll check into it. I noticed the idle is smoother and when shifting, RPM's may not drop quite as quickly

It shouldn't have changed anything unless you have closed loop fuel enrichment on.

Lean and rich limits are set to 15 and 10% respectively. So I wasn't hallucinating the improvement in drivability?

I've already heard the 20vt sounds like garbage without the cats (or hollowed out). People who have though, is there any video that you can confirm on youtube that is representative of this phenomenon :) ? I know some don't sound very good in the way of quality on there either. Maybe a good one is lurking on there.

Probably not.

There should be plenty of videos without cats unless you're looking for videos with it specifically on the stock exhaust system with cats removed.

The replacement UrS I bought has just the cats removed on a stock exhaust.

Opinons solicited from other 5cyl friends elicit comments like, "more raspy but less deep," and so on.

I could try to get a video for you but it could be a while for WOT flybys vs. idle/revs.

Ya I saw a few that just sort of mention "direct exhaust" or other ambiguous crap like that. On my ps4 I cant see the video descriptions or comments (wtf sony!?) So I'll switch to the pc so I don't waste anyone's time on it. chris you've been a big help to me on here though. Everyone likes some recognition here and there :D thanks.

On a side note, am I the only one running an idle of 1000 rpm's with an aluminum flywheel I wonder? It seems whenever I change one setting (specifically min pwm duty allowed currently at 37% for my 1010 rpm idle IIRC) it directly affects the rpms. It's weird like I should only use it to determine my idle and mimic it's result in the idle target rpm warm engine field after. I HATED messing with the idle settings since I had to make the car idle for enormous periods of time and it made me worry that the settings would be void during normal temps after the coolant was way hot from sitting.

I'm rambling :D

It's fine but the adjectives are helpful :ty:

I forgot, my exhaust is an ebay manifold with a stock exhaust up to the custom mandrel bent cat back with a Flowmaster muffler. It's baffled but has zero db deadening characteristics. I like

So I think my using the launch control has somehow convinced the sunroof to begin working after having disconnected the power to it for 8 months :D thank god for launch control! Although tilt doesn't work the open function works great haha

5326101 5098 1544a 226
5326101 5367

Is this an RS2 turb?

Ya I wasn't as excited when I'd found that either poor german to English translaton or poor listing skills were responsible for this turbo (from a euro 200) seeming to be an rs2...
