Brandon, not a hijack at all.

-First I used a common hole saw of an appropriate size to 'hog out' the rubber center.
-Then I used a hack saw blade to cut through the metal 'collar'.
-Once the collar is cut you can pry up an edge of the metal collar and pretty much just twist it up and roll it right out.
-Clean up the inner surface and install the new mount, I did some clearancing to the inner surface of the mounting boss.
-Whether you are using delrin or a stock style replacement you will really benefit from throwing the new one in the freezer for a few hours or overnight.

No more evil emissions testing for the Blue Pill - ever.

The Law in NV changed as of October 1st and it's way easier to get that first set of classic plates. It used to be that upon renewal you had to get your emissions test done at a state testing station, then you had to take the car to one specific DMV location in Las Vegas and they would do a physical and sniff verification, then verify the mileage. You were limited to 2500 miles per year thereafter.

The new regulation gets rid of that second set of tests done at the DMV station as well as the mileage verification. You can now apply and walk out of any DMV office with your classic plates in-hand. As long as you have a current-year emissions test and you haven't failed one in the last 90 days you can get your plates at any time within the current registration period (not just upon renewal).

They have also upped the mileage from 2500/year to 5000/year, not that I have put 5000 miles on it in the last 3 years but... You don't even need to take the car in for a mileage verification yearly, you just sign an affidavit swearing that your stated mileage is true - under penalty blah blah...

All taxes and fees shall be five times the annual taxes and fees normally assessed.

Note the specific year and not a range :bashtard: politicians.

Ours is a rolling 25 year age requirement.

It's nice 'cuz 4000's are coming into that range now, and soon will the 90 Coupe's and maybe even some Integrale's

I think I need to start establishing ties to begin importing the Integrale's as of 2013 ;o] We can have 8v cars in 2013 and 16v cars is 2015

Last time I registered a car in Nevada, they only asked to see the title, then I had to take the car in for a vin# verification at local tire shop the car was exempt from smog 12 years, and older Douglas County NV, so there was not smog test required, and they assumed the mileage never looked. Are all counties in NV requiring smog testing now, or just a few? :?

Clark County is the toughest. Annual smog back to '69 year cars.

I hate all you west coast guys because you make me want to pick up and move out there! I loved Arizona when I was there and seeing this, and how happy your car looks in the terrain makes me happy. I always had this picture in my head that if I wound up there it would be like florida. Flat no twisties and lots of old people. Where I am right now its 3 months of summer and 9 months of winter give or take. Im no winter guy...

C'mon back out west. We have 3 months of bad weather here too, just like most places- only it's between Memorial Day and Labor Day. That sunshine and blue sky does wonders for me - never will I live back east or in the midwest again. Oh, and kiss those nightmares of cars rusting before your eyes away too hahah

Sean, I opted for an immediate custom plate on the 'other' car - so I have another daggum temporary ;o]

I think Nevada's friendly approach to classic plate is partly due to our relationship with SEMA. We kinda just think of SEMA as a show with a bunch of cool stuff but in reality the organization campaigns heavily in Washington as well as individual states to stick up for motorists rights. Think about it, the more accepting the laws - the more aftermarket products can be sold...
