but they were so fun to paint! Good point though. I probably don't want to be messing with hammering off rotors down the road.

I'll at least make the face of them not sticky.
This morning got up early and put the new RS4 clutch disc in. Also spent another hour cleaning the rear diff casing.
Still left to do:
- put everything back on.

It's a B5. 034 had them on their site for around 50.00 but I didn't buy it in time. Got this one from a fellow enthusiast. Forgot to use the clutch alignment tool though so of it will come. I'll do some compare measurements for good measure (ha!) while it's out.

Trans, front subframe, rear exhaust section and driveline are all in. Got new rear rotors as well because one of those old ones was warped.
Hopefully things go smoothly from here on out.

After a month of being on jack stands this little car is back on the road!
About 50 miles have been logged and so far so good. There's a couple things to address, one being the exhaust leak. That was deliberate because I don't have the skills to weld in tight areas but it's better than open downpipe. The other being a small coolant leak on the turbo supply line. I've been monitoring this and not running the car very hard.
I also cleaned the tunnel shield and added some protection for the air filter. Used a piece from my old fender liners. Worked great and no rubbing.
Shifting is great so far, smooth between gears and reverse isnt horrible to get into even without the lockout.
Still needs an alignment so I have to keep the miles down even though it is hard to do. I want to keep driving it!

Thanks guys!
Yeah it feels pretty good to have it running and driving again. Still a couple things to sort out but overall really awesome.
Next is setting up the low-speed fan switch off VEMS and a manual afterrun pump switch so I can decide to run it after shut-off.

Nick, is your after-run pump not working like it should? Whats going on with it? Mine runs for a few minutes after I shut it off.... why re-engineer whats already been done?

mine is not running after shut off. not sure why either. I watch the temps after shut off and it will barely touch 112c before going back down. Right now that isn't horrible but come summer time it could be closer to 117c with outside heat happening. I'll have to pull all that stuff out anyway so might diagnose at least while there.
I do plan on at least setting up the low speed fan switch with VEMS.

I can help with that if you have a diagram. Im pretty good with wiring. Its not too bad to figure out. You dont need vems to run it, its actually easier to do it without.

That might be good to try before wiring it up manually. I'll try to find a diagram.

Turbo Swap weekend update:
Drove to Vegas
Swapped in one of the Iroz K24 Billet turbos
Put down 265whp/285wtq on 91 and 310whp/355wtq on E85
Full Setup:
- Stock 3b Long Block
- VEMS
- 630cc Injectors
- 4bar fuel pressure regulator
- stock exhaust manifold
- stock 90 fuel pump
- 2.0 coils
Overall I'm really impressed with how quickly this turbo spools and how well it puts down the power. It was a great weekend down at Iroz Motorsport and as always, fun times were had by all. Had the opportunity to drive the Test Mule back from the gas station and holy moly that thing rips like
like freaking stomach gas after Taco Bell
maybe more. Still in debate.
Here's some pics from the weekend. Also you will notice more BBK fun at the end there

Nice work nick. Impressive numbers for the billet k24. Whats the max psi on both fuels?

Dude that thing is a hoot! We had the same setup on mine for a bit and I took it for a drive before we swapped mine out. Damn thing felt N/A!
The way the front end lifts and then the rear end steps out on the mule is awesome. Stock suspension FTW.

It was a hoot

The rear locker was on and I only did 5th gear pulls but once that lag went away holy moly. . .

Awesome update!! Have a graph to share?
So what exactly are we dealing with, a billet k24... or hybrid?
And, more importantly... when can us regular folk get one?!

That is awesome power. And I assume ridonk spool. Could probably get closer to the 285whp that a solid rs2 setup usually sees on the dyno with 93 (perhaps not hanks dyno tho). Still though, we'll say essentially rs2 power but I assume a lot more responsive. Win win
